[Idly dictated into the journal,]

It never ceases to amaze me with what people get to write, and what gets made into books. Some things just seem downright treasonous, but they still get bound, and bought, and read by lots of people.

I'm a little jealous to be frank. At home it could be pretty tough to get hold of books and things. Some of my friends couldn't even read so having books would have been moot.

[Rin is in the library today, which is not very surprising: the library is a good place to try and find her. Tad the Arcanine is hanging around lolling under tables and in front of chairs as she reads. Just now, she seems to be slipping a book into her carryall: the curious might get enough of a glimpse to see that she's making off with The Anarchist's Cookbook.

Wait, you remember me?!

I do! I know, that's really weird, right? But when I came back to the castle I remembered everything from my previous stay!

I even remembered that when I was gone I had forgotten. It was pretty weird.

That's a thing that's happening now... my friend Abel remembers being here too - he was here for two years, too.

I can't complain about that change but I wonder what made the castle decide to run it like that now. And why it's just picking and choosing amongst people to bring back with memories.

Wow, that's a really long time to be stuck here...

That's a good question. Maybe it's up to something... Maybe it's for a reason that hasn't happened yet.

[Has been here for three and a half years, haha... she doesn't mention that.]

Yeah... well, if it's a permanent change I hope it sticks around. It's nice to have people actually remember they're friends with you when they get back here, and not have to do everything all over again.

I guess we did meet before, huh? That is... [... with Slenderman. :| Rin still has a hard time talking about that with John. The thought shuts her right up anyway.]

I hope so too! It's a nice change of pace. I'm glad the castle is doing something nice for us for a change.

[she pauses, slightly hesitating. then she chuckles.] Yeah, we met before during that mess... You were there when John and I got kidnapped by that monster. I don't think I every apologized for scaring you!

Yeah... that. [Let's not dwell on that. D:] No apology is necessary anyway, I'm just glad everyone came back in one piece from that mess. Hopefully you guys won't have so much trouble this time around!

[sobs...] Hehehe. Yeah. No harm done, right? [she had had John and Dave with her at the time. She was happy.]

I hope so too! But I know how the castle likes to play its games.

It doesn't seem that way. [Which she's very grateful for!]

- remind me of when you left, again? What did you miss? Did people fill you in on what went on around here since then?

Oh jeez, um... I left a little while ago. It was around the spring, right after St. Patrick's Day. I think. I wasn't really told what went on between then and when I came back.

It's been kind of a long while, then... well! You missed some unpleasantness in the summer but that's probably for the best. Other than that I think it's been pretty quiet around here.

I can't say that I'm sorry I missed that, hehehe. I'm glad that it's been so quiet. I hope it stays that way!

Yeah, whenever it's quiet for very long I start to feel like the castle is lulling us into a false sense of security, or something. But it's not like we don't ever get to relax a bit! I don't know, I guess you can learn to be prepared...
