my green pen is really hard to read on this journal paper so i am going to forgo it for now :(

i just had another question!
people who had powers back home-
what were they like?
what are they like here?
have you noticed any difference??

and i still have not figured out what my loss is .___.
any advice on pinpointing that would be super appreciated

Oh, it's my ability to fly. Didn't you catch that before? Like...Paradisa would limit where I could fly anyway, but I can't fly under my own power at all without going out control and crashing. It's kind of annoying.

Yeah, it is. I mean...I was still getting the hang of it, myself, but flying's one of my favorites, of all the powers I have. Kinda useful if you're into doing the whole "super hero" thing, which is kinda what I was going to school for, heh.

Heh, yeah. It's called the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. I'd been attending for about a year, before I came here four months ago.

people just openly go to school to be superheroes?
because if so, that is literally the coolest thing i have heard all year

I don't know if I'd call it "normal" by the dictionary definition of the word. In order to attend a school like JGS, you've gotta be a mutant, or at least be a young person with powers you can't necessarily control. A lot of the kids at the school are there because they don't have anyplace to go. It is pretty cool though, I've gotta admit. One of the students is a sentient landmass, his name's Krakoa!

Does that happen to a lot of people, though? People usually only have superpowers in video games or comic books or tv shows or something back at home-- you sound really casual about it!

Not really. I mean...there used to be a bunch of mutants in my world, but...something happened a few years ago that reduced our population just over a thousand of us in the whole world. The teachers call it "M-Day".

It's just the life I'm used to, you know? I grew up on a farm in Kansas, and discovered my powers when I turned 12. After that, my Uncle Cluster came and taught me about mutants and my powers, and after that I started going to the school. I've never known anything else.

it means you want to do good for the world

Aww, it ain't that big of a deal. It's just the right thing to do, y'know? People need help, and I've got the power to help 'em, so it just makes sense to do all I can.

Oh stop that, you're makin' me blush. Truth is I've got a lot of reasons for wanting to be a hero, it being the right thing to do's only the most obvious of 'em, heh. There's really not much else someone like me can do out in the world. Paradisa's different, but back home I would've gotten more than a few odd looks if I just waltzed into a grocery store to find work as a bag-boy or something, you know?

You haven't, no, and I do look different...sort of. I mean...I look like a human, but my skin is naturally gray, and I have naturally blue lips, with raised lines crossing my cheeks, and red eyes that glow when I get upset. So yeah, passing for a normal human can be hard sometimes.

When she's in shark form, yeah. She can transform between her human and shark form pretty much whenever she wants.
