paradisa | 11th Sortie

[In the clinic, Pixy's been a little low on sleep lately. With the incidents of the Event Horizon still fresh in his mind, sleep hasn't been particularly high on his agenda, and when he manages to doze for any amount of time, he won't be asleep for very long as his mind returns to what happened. And that girl. That girl's face is always in his mind. He can see her clear as day, everytime he closes his eyes. He knows fully well it wasn't him in control, but how do you admit that to yourself? More importantly, hell, what was he going to do if he SAW her again? If death wasn't permanent like everyone said it was...

He sighed as he ran his right hand through his hair - since his right arm was the only one that could do any sort of movement for the time being. This was all just a terrible dream. Or at least he wished it was, anyway. The severe pain in his shoulder and leg felt all too real.

He'll notice his journal is open next to him, remembering two things he had to mention. Guess he had filters to do.]

[Chie]

Hey, kid. Is Weiss with you?

[Rise]

I hate to ask, but would you mind doin' a favor for me?

[With those done, he gives another annoyed sigh and glances around the clinic.]

I'm really not fond of the idea of being cooped up like this.

[.........shit. He hasn't gotten to his room ever since they got back. He'll be quietly hoping that the ghosts were taking care of Weiss this whole time.]

Get to room 203. The door should be unlocked. I'm gonna need you take care of him for a while.

[While Chie can be slow sometimes, it's obvious her friend Larry is one of those who's been to Event Horizon. She understands how he needs some space right now, so she just went ahead and go to room 203]

Is Kirijo-san with you? I haven't seen her in a while...

Thanks, kid. I'm not gonna be getting out of this clinic anytime soon, so someone needs to look after him.

[He WAS kinda rude with his request, but he's not gonna apologize. That's... how Pixy rolls and all.]

Kirijo? She isn't here right now. I'm sure she'll be around to berate me later.

Okay. I need to tell her something, but I'm not comfortable using the journal.

Anyway, I'm at your place now!

[She sees the door and the name plate. 'Larry Foulke', huh? Well, better than calling him Pixy, she thought. But she opened the door which was unlocked, and Weiss barked with joy when he sees her favorite girl]

Hey there, buddy! Come 'ere, I'm gonna take care of you for a while! Larry-chan is sick and Mitsuru-san is taking care of him. [Chie carries Weiss while pet-talking him and rubbing their noses against each other. Weiss just barked happily]

Like I said, I'm sure she'll be around so I can relay a message.

[He overhears her talking to Weiss and just rolls his eyes. 'chan'? The hell does that mean? And oh. Right. She'd find out his real name through the nameplate.]

I'm not sick. I'm just injured. She's not 'taking care' of me either...

Uuuhhhh, it's not something you should hear. Hehe.

Anyway, get well soon Larry-sa-- Ugh. Larry! You want some food?

...right. [Ugh, you women. Why bring it up if you don't want to be asked about it.]

I'll pass, thanks. Make sure Weiss doesn't need it first. I don't know if those ghosts were taking care of him the past week or not.

[Of course, they were, but how was he supposed to know that?]

Yeah, he seems alri-- [Chie gasps when she sees the floating broom]

Sheesh... These ghosts still scare the heck out of me... But he's okay.

[He'll smirk a little, giving a quiet chuckle at her comment about the ghosts. But he'll hide that amusement in his tone.]

Good, so they were taking care of him after all. At least that's one less thing to worry about.

[Chie is glad to hear that from Larry. He's been burdened enough thanks to recent events, and she'll do what she could to help him. Taking care of Weiss is probably the only thing she could do right now, though]

Mhmm! Oh hey, that jet fighter plushie is here! What's with the red wing?

[Taking care of Weiss was probably the most important thing she could be doing, really.]

My Eagle always had a red wing after an incident in the skies several years ago.

Oh cool so you're making it look like your old plane? There's another one in the game room that looks exactly like that. Maybe you could give that one a blue wing this time!

[He gave a small laugh.] The red wing was all it needed.

[Of course, thinking about an eagle with blue wings...]

Nah. I don't think that one's appropriate for me.

Blue was more Cipher's thing, not mine.

[Someday, Rise will learn to not be surprised when she sees a filter in the journal from Pixy.]

[She's pretty sure if Pixy's asking her, it's something important. But it doesn't hurt to get more details before agreeing.]

[Well, it's somewhat important. And he wouldn't trust Chie to do it because the kid'd probably drop it or something. And she's taking care of Weiss anyway.]

In my room there's a bottle of chateau boloise on my desk. I was wondering if you would mind taking that to Kirijo for me. I was supposed to take it to her four days ago, but... well. You know what happened.

Needless to say, I can't leave the clinic without being dragged back in so I can't do it myself.

[Wow, confusing feelings. Rise's both impressed that Pixy's taking his convalescence well, and shocked he's asking her of all people to run this errand.]

You sure? I mean, that you want me to go get it?

[She doesn't want him getting it in his head that he'd be better off doing it himself, nope.]

[He -knows- he's better off taking it himself, but his leg disagrees with that right now.]

Unless you teen idols have some kind of alcoholism problem that I don't know about, I don't see why not.

The only other person I could ask is Satonaka, but she's already doing something for me. [...] I'd trust you more with carrying the glass bottle, anyway.

Care for some company?

Well, I don't think I can say no to company that won't chide me most of the time. [Even if Pixy deserves all the chiding he gets in the clinic.]

I could bring a pack of cards, if that sort of thing would keep you occupied.

I think anything would keep me occupied in this place. Not much else to do in a clinic except lay in bed and stare at the ceiling.

[and true to her word, she is - a pack of cards in hand]

[He'll give her a sideways glance from his bed before lifting his arm and managing a lazy wave. It's probably easy to tell that he hasn't had any significant amount of sleep for the past couple days. Won't stop him from putting on the good old 'I'm perfectly fine' front though.]

Seems when you say 'shortly', you certainly mean it.
