There's an empty apartment above Caritas. I think I'm going to stay there for a while. I wouldn't be much help in the clinic, anyway.

Caritas is open, by the way... if people need it.

Sleep and rest sound like amazing ideas to me.

[ she's asking how he's doing in a very roundabout way. in a few, she'll actually ask him. ]

My friend gave me something that he says is supposed to help.

[ it's a horrible attempt at distraction, but she's trying. ]

Maybe both. I'll ask Phoebe to keep tabs. [he kind of wants to apologize for the assault, but not sure if he should even bring it up]

Good idea. Tell her hi for me, okay? [ she pauses, too. she wants to tell him she doesn't blame him. things happened and it wasn't his fault. she's just more than grateful she wasn't at full power or the whole ship would have died. ]

[the whole ship would've DEFINITELY died if Peter had his powers. He was corrupted and trying to turn on the Gravity Core, after all. Maybe it's better to just leave things unsaid]

[ the gravity core activating would've been one of the only things that could actually kill fully-powered ashley. she's glad nothing of the sort happened. ]

[ pause. ]

Hey... I'll see you around, okay?

[ probably would be and that's about as much as she's willing to go into it at the moment. ]

[Phoebe wraps an arm around her husband's waist]

There are plenty of other people around who can help. They can spare you for a while.

[he pulls her close, pressing a kiss into her hair]

I know, but... I can't help wishing I could help after everything.

[kungfuwitch]

I know, sweetheart. [She gives him a bit of a sad smile. She wishes she could help people more, too. She may no longer be an empath but she can still feel the pain the castle's in and she desperately wishes she could help]

I know. But you need to heal yourself first... we both do.

[spongetastic]

I remember everything. I wanted to reach you, but I couldn't.

[She turns to face him fully, laying one hand on his cheek.]

I know. You tried... I know you fought it but it was just too strong.

[She fights to keep down the sorrow and pain she feels at the memories, wanting to keep as much of that from him as possible. She lightly strokes his face]

But it's over, now. It's over and gone and we're safe.

[spongetastic]

Phoebe... Let it go. [don't think he can't tell what you're doing] I want to push it all down, too. I want to be strong for you.

[kungfuwitch]

[Shit. She closes her eyes, letting her hand drop from his face. Shaking her head she starts to turn away from him]

I'm trying. I'm trying to work past all of this... it's just taking time.

[She's trying to be strong for YOU!]
