Though it is not the way of things, mayhap that is why it will be entirely appropriate in this new realm. This is a prodigious day for myself; indeed for all of England. Whether or not you are loyal to the English crown and country, should you be loyal enough to me as a servant, an ally, or even a friend, I would welcome you to a simple supper I will be having to honor the day His Majesty the King bestowed upon me my crown. Should you choose to come, we will partake before dusk in the castle's own dining hall, where I am most apologetic to inform that no animals will be permitted within for the time being.

Nobody should eat rabbit when there's a talking one! What if they're his friends?

[ Anne just looks coolly at Clementine for a moment, then back up at Lee. ]

If she would rather leave, I would not force such a tender child to remain and suffer my cooking.

Clem, it's alright. Most rabbits don't talk-- your friend here is an exception.

I'm not eating rabbit. I'll eat anything but rabbit.

[Clem is sweet, most of the time... but like any child, she can be stubborn. THIS IS A WORTHY CAUSE TO BE STUBBORN OVER.]

There's plenty of other stuff to eat. Relax. [ It's not demanding - instead, it's his attempt to be soothing. (Really, though, he could almost laugh: it's nice to have to smooth her feelings about something as mundane as food.) ] We'll eat something delicious, okay?

[ Anne's patience is being tried right now, perhaps only holding because of Clementine's age. At least Lee is trying, but it seems like her ears are plugged. ]

I have already told you that you need not eat the rabbit, child. There are other dishes.

[ It is an insult, but she has to suffer those a thousand times a day, doesn't she? ]

Perhaps some water with the spiced wine and honey mixed in will bring a smile to your face? I had said you would grow to like it.

[She looks from Lee to Anne, then nods.]

A lot of honey, right?

[ Lee's eyebrows go up. ]

And a little wine.

[ Anne nods in mock enthusiasm, gently placing her weaker arm down to guide the girl further in, and hopefully Lee will follow. ]

It is not so large as to be considered a feast, but I pray there is enough to choose that your belly will not suffer neglect.

[Clem seems appeased, and goes along.]

We won't. The castle never lets us go hungry here.

[ And Lee does follow without complaint, even if his expression remains thoughtful. ]

And even if it did - we could get food from the town, right?
