Though it is not the way of things, mayhap that is why it will be entirely appropriate in this new realm. This is a prodigious day for myself; indeed for all of England. Whether or not you are loyal to the English crown and country, should you be loyal enough to me as a servant, an ally, or even a friend, I would welcome you to a simple supper I will be having to honor the day His Majesty the King bestowed upon me my crown. Should you choose to come, we will partake before dusk in the castle's own dining hall, where I am most apologetic to inform that no animals will be permitted within for the time being.

I trust you have been well? You are well enough to throw a party, yes, but you've done such a thing before.

This is not a party, I assure you. Merely a supper.

[ May Day was a party! And that's the type she should be throwing all the time, but damn this world. Also yes dodging that bullet of a question, but eh she's sort of walking around isn't she? ]

Were none of you here I would simply be eating this alone with my daughter. Only slightly smaller potions, perhaps. [ A chuckle. ]

Suppers, parties, are they not all the same? [Life was an endless party for elves, anyway.] Still, I thank you for extending an invitation.

[ And normally supper would definitely be a party, like...all the time. But again, the castle limits her. And she just cares a little less than she used to. ]

You have shown yourself to be a soldier first and woman second, but I would still know the woman. What better way than over food and drink?

[sworn]

[And here we have the inevitable. Let's hope the questions don't get too personal.]

Of course. Shall we? [She gestures toward the table.]

[ At least she's mastered walking with the crutch while swishing her skirts out of it's way. It's still not a graceful walk, though, not at all compared to normal, but the table isn't far!

There, she'll wait for Vereesa to select something before she eats herself. It shouldn't be too much of a trial, because Anne is faking hard. Her questions will be shallow at best, unless something manages to really interesting. What could be interesting about an elf??? ]

I pray the food is not too alien for you, General.

[As Vereesa picks out the roast rabbit and places it in front of herself, her ears perk at that statement.

There is a part of her that is suddenly extremely offended. Just what is she implying? True that elves and humans have their differences, but it isn't as if they eat any differently. Or savagely.

But there is another part of her that is entirely amused by that, and Vereesa lets out a genuine, hearty laugh.]

And just how exactly would this be alien? Surely you do not think I am so queer that I've never had a roast or stew before.

[ She glances in Ted's direction, and the Once-ler's. ]

They come from a world where this sort of food does not even exist. They eat strange, spongey creations named marshmallows, and jelly and juice, and nothing else I suppose save roast beast, the only real food. So I must wonder at anyone's diet who is not from Earth, now.

When you put it that way, I see your point. [Still a little offended but them's the breaks of living in Paradisa.]

You needn't worry too much about me. From what I've heard so far, our worlds do share some similar qualities.

Well I must admit that when I imagine elves in my world, you...are not what would come to mind. But then I tried to avoid such superstition, really.

Magic by man's hand is not possible, not unless he is gifted by God or bewitched by Lucifer himself. And witches, they are burned, I am afraid.

[ She lightly crosses herself with a prayer out of habit. Right for a piece of cheese next. ]

[sworn]

[She nods, having heard of this before.]

On Azeroth, magic is simply another natural element. My kind is born proficient in it; some even considered it as essential as air. However, there are many like me who have chosen not to depend on it. [Which is another very long story. You do not want to get her started.]

Having it so rare, if it truly did exist in your world, I would understand why it would be feared. Magic is very powerful, and it takes a great amount of discipline to master.

[ Anne squints at this information, then glances away. Similar, but also different from what Galadriel had described. ]

I commend you for resisting such temptation, and proving yourself in your own manner, General.

[sworn]

[She dips her head graciously, because it is nice to hear that every so often. Even if it's coming from someone who isn't familiar with the Quel'dorei or Sin'dorei.]

I cannot take all of the credit. Were it not for my husband, I would not have had enough strength.

Tell me of your husband. He must be a magnificent character to inspire such a righteous woman of such strength.

[sworn]

[There's a smile on her lips and a pang of hurt in her chest, but she doesn't show it.]

He is, though do not tell him that. His ego is easily inflated.

Rhonin is the leader of the Kirin Tor and the ruler of Dalaran, the mage city. An extremely talented magic wielder, though I sometimes wonder if it is also partly blind luck that aides him.

[She purposely avoids using the past tense. It's better this way, as she can pretend that recent events have not transpired.]

You have resisted magic so and yet...you married one who excels in it?

There's humor in that, isn't there? Neither of us ever expected to fall for the other, but we have been though much and have always been each others' rock.

Before I was a general, when I was just out of my training, my first mission was to escort a human mage from one location to another. He, on the other hand, saw fit to include me in his mission and all the troubles that came with it. We have seldom been apart since.

[Which is only partially true, as she is the one who went after him.]
