It’s been a few months since you left. I hope you’ll forgive me putting this off: things have been busy in Castle Crazy.
I suppose I should reintroduce myself, in case you return and don’t remember me. My name is Dairine Callahan. I’m a programming wizard. [She doesn’t elaborate. He can take from that what he will.] During your last stay here, we were friends, neighbors… almost family, in a way. You might not know it now, but you were like a father to me. And since today's father's day, I suppose it's fitting to finally write this down.
Your room is now occupied by the Doctor (the blond one) and his TARDIS. It’s weird, but I’d like to think you wouldn’t mind. You were friends with the Doctor while he was here last. Nice guy and very smart when he's not being an idiot.
Things have been rough in the castle. There was an earthquake which devastated the local area a little over a month ago. The castle got through just fine, though the evacuation system was in disarray. We might need to add news sections for emergency procedures and something covering the city. We also went up to space twice since you left: twice! The more recent one ended up being hard on the whole castle. …I’ll leave out the details, but many people died.
Which brings me to something I never got to tell you before. I’d like to apologize again for what I said during our Christmas in Paris… and elaborate, in case you read back and wonder why I had been such a grouch. The truth is (and you might not have realized this last time) that was the first Christmas I spent without my family… especially my mother. You see, my mother is dead. She died a few months before I came here. So having to go through Christmas after that… well, you’ve taken care of Sam. You can probably guess what it was like.
That said, I'm still grateful for the time I spent with you. You were one of the few adults who cared about me but did not hold me back, something I've grown to miss in the past few months. I learned a lot while you were here, and I'm glad I got to meet you.
Thanks for everything.
PS - My Bit is doing quite well. I’ve been giving it energy regularly. I think it’s taken a liking to Spot. It’s always taking his side in arguments lately. Maybe it recognizes a kinship of sorts.

Time has flown since you’ve gone, which is not to say that it has been pleasant. Far from it. Some of the things that have happened since then make me almost glad that you’re not here to suffer through them. Almost but not quite.
I suppose I should re-introduce myself, in case you return with no memories of your last visit. My name is Dairine Callahan. I was a friend of yours last time you were in Paradisa, as well as Katniss and Rue. I also knew Haymitch… but I doubt he would count me as a friend. Only an ally. You see, I know what you guys went through back home. It might sound odd to you, but where I'm from, there is no Hunger Game. I can't say my world is flawless, far from it, but comparatively we've got it good.
While you were here, I offered you guys my room as a safehouse if you needed it, and that offer still stands. You might be suspicious of such an offer, and I wouldn’t blame you. You were unsure when we first met too. If I’m still here though, just make a call through the journal and I can show you proof.
I still miss you, Peeta. I miss talking with you and Bucky. I miss seeing you paint. And I miss your cakes. This might be a little late, but I hope, eventually, things work out for you in Panem. Times might be dark, but you're stronger than you think. And if we don’t see each other before then? Well, there’s always Timeheart.
Take care of yourself. Look after Katniss too if you can. You do best together.

Just in case Paradisa brings you back without memories, I'll reintroduce myself. My name is Dairine Callahan. We were friends the last time you were here. When you left, you gave me a letter saying that if you return, you'd like to still be friends. (If you don't believe me, I can show it to you.) Well, I'd like that too. We New Yorkers need to stick together.
I also was friends with Bucky during his time here, and one thing the three of us promised that if the castle sent us into space, I would show you around Mars. Now that both you and Bucky are gone, Paradisa has finally given us a chance to go to space. It’s swear it's taunting me. Not that we would have been able to go to Mars after all... our powers were nixed, so no side-trips. And its unlikely anyone will want to go back to space for a long time after our last trip. It was... grim. Lots of causalities. Things like this make me glad you're not here to witness them but also make me miss you more. We probably could have used your help.
Since I got your letter, I’d like you to know I’ve been good and not shut people out of my life. The Doctor is back and Barton’s still around, so don’t worry about me. I can handle whatever the castle throws at us.
But Steve... there's someone who's come back to the castle who is shutting people out. I won't say who, but you used to know her.I wish I could help. I wish you were- I wish I knew how to give her the advice you gave me.
The best to you on your adventures.
PS – We’re marathoning Star Wars when you get back. No questions.
PSS – You still owe me those stories, Cap.
