[He coughs softly before dictating]

My brother'n I've been workin' on fixin' up the church down town an it got me thinkin'. This is s'posed t'be February, right? Th'way I figure it, Lent starts today. Does anyone here even celebrate Lent, here? Is anyone givin' anythin' up?
((ooc: Open over the journal or in town. He's hard at work cleaning up and fixing the outside of the church, today. Winter be damned, he's just glad for the fresh air.))

Father Abel and I along with a handful of people returned from Paris with our memories. Before that, we all left the castle on separate occasions. Each of us stayed within the city of Paris believing we had always lived there. It was quite an experience.
For the most part we kept the affair private which is why you've never heard of it.
[Except for the time she public reprimanded a resident for being cruel enough to tell Abel their lives were a lie. Since that was lost with the journal change she sees no reason to get into it.]

[he frowned as he slid into his chair. he'd heard of the Paris thing before, yes, but -- combining it with this made even less sense]
-- you hadn't really gotten sent back, you got sent to Paris, but Paris wasn' really Paris, it was .... this place so ...
[that's the sound of his brain breaking] You'd really been here the whole time, but no one knew it?

An you believed y'd always lived there? That's not right...

That's correct. While it was not right to delude us like that, I cannot believe it served no purpose at all. This may not be my rightful world, but if the Lord sees fit to leave me here there must be something for me to do. I will keep pursuing that purpose until I can return to the one I have at home. I can endure trials like that if that is what it takes.

If it were easy, our work would not be as fulfilling.
