COMBINED CAMP: DAY THREE

[The morning ends the heavy storm, bright sunshine beaming down on the makeshift camp. Some of you may be injured from last nights incidents, but at least this is some downtime for you to recuperate. Tembo and Harding are arguing heatedly some distance from the camp, but otherwise the jungle is silent.

The camp is being visited, however. A pack of compsognathus have made their way into camp. They're little guys only ten inches high, easily the smallest residents on the island. They're currently scurrying around the camp, looking for any food to scavenge, seemingly not concerned with the people milling around]

I suppose so. I hadn't thought of it that way.

I just think I have so much love for women that I like to spread it around.

[That makes more sense than it doesn't, Cass thinks. She's liked more than one person at one time, albeit not the way Ezio liked women, but it's not a completely foreign idea.]

Well... if everyone knows that, knows... what to expect, then...

[Then that makes cheating okay? No, that doesn't seem right. Is it cheating when the other person knows, if there's honesty there? It had been cheating with Tim and Stephanie and that other girl, she knows that much. She frowns and shakes her head.]

Don't know. But, maybe one day, you'll find woman... that makes that stop. Makes you... forget to love others. Just her.

[There's something about that which doesn't sit well with him, as if loving a thousand and one women in a thousand and one nights is somehow a love less pure or whatever, but everyone else seems happy this way. Wasn't he happy like that with Lana? It's certainly more idyllic than in his time, where wives resent their husbands plenty and husbands hop into other beds...

I'm told I will have a wife in the future.

Must happen, then.

[She pulls back enough to grin at him.]

[He gives her an amused look.]

"Congratulations"? She could be a shrew, for all I know!

[hellofist]

Doubt it. You wouldn't marry shrew. Wouldn't marry... anyone you didn't want.

How do you know? Perhaps in my old age I grew desperate.

[hellofist]

Doubt that, too. Should have... more faith, in yourself. Just have to hope... you'll stay handsome forever.

[assassino]

[He chuckles...]

I will soon be thirty, and you are what... eighteen? Nineteen? We are both getting out of our prime now, you know, our beauty will start to fade after this.

[hellofist]

[That gets a laugh from her, too.]

How sad, for us. What will happen, when we're... not prime, anymore?

We settle for those who would have us, of course.
