THE RIVER

[YOU CHOSE THE RIVER ROUTE Too bad, Mama decides to give this group chase. There's a cave up ahead, a small waterfall partially concealing the entrance, but it should provide safe cover, if you can make it]

You're not a ghost, right?

[personal profile] simulatedmedic 2013-06-20 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
No. I'm a... I'm a hologram.

Cool!

...You look pretty solid for one, though. The holograms I've seen before were kind of.... glitchy? I don't know if thats the right word. But they kept kind of fuzzing in and out. And I could see right through them.

I'm human for the moment. And I'll have you know that my matrix was perfectly in tune at my last diagnostic.

Huh, how's that work?

...yeah, I'd believe that. The guy who made those holograms was kind of creepy fruitloop. [Also they'd all been holograms of his mother programmed to call Vlad cutesy pet names. Watching that had almost been more traumatizing then being kidnapped, tortured and cloned.]

I'm assuming that it's the castle's fault.

And I was programmed by the famed holoprogrammer Dr. Lewis Zimmerman and a team of Starfleet holo-engineers.

Everything usually is.

...Starfleet?

Starfleet is the exploratory and, in times of need, military arm of the United Federation of Planets.

...Planets? You have spaceships?

[The tone of his voice is conflicted, somewhere in between wonder and a deepseated fear.]

Of course. I'm the Emergency Medical Holographic Program, and Chief Medical Officer on board the Federation Starship USS Voyager

That... is so cool! [Even his experiences on the Event Horizon couldn't make this any less cool.]

How big is this starship? How fast can it go? How far have you explored? Have you ever been on another planet?

The USS Voyager is a Starfleet Intrepid-class science vessel. It has 15 decks, and a maximum cruise velocity of Warp 9.975.

So far, we've been hurled into the Delta Quadrant, the farthest point of the galaxy, and we were attempting to make it back to the Alpha Quadrant when Paradisa abducted my program.

And, yes, I've been on several planets on Away Missions thanks to my Mobile Emitter.

That is so cool! How fast is a warp? What powers it? Is it a generation ship or did you figure out a way around the speed problem of space travel?

What were the planets like?

[personal profile] simulatedmedic 2013-07-12 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
It's powered by a Warp Core which uses matter/anti-matter injections to acheive faster-than-light travel. Other than that, you'll have to ask an engineer.

And the planets? Not a lot I can really say. I was often sent down into environments inhospitible to humanoid life. There was one time I got to spend several years on a planet trapped in a temporal anomaly. Only a minute had passed on Voyager.
schrodingersghost: (fenton - you knew all the time)

That sounds so cool! I have no idea what that means, but it sounds cool!
