Recovery Is the Name of the Game [ open action / filter dictated ]
[ Filtered to James Bond]
James, when you have a few spare moments, I would like to speak with you. I could say it across the journals, but I feel this is best said in person. So, at your earliest convenience, please, seek me out. I am mostly around my chambers, and I assume you know why, but if you would like to meet somewhere else I am amiable to such suggestion.
[ /End Filter]
[ That done, Ashura rose, checking momentarily on Felix before gathering the books stacked on the living chamber's table and gliding out of the room. His own wounds had been superficial, at best, and he opted to wrap bandages around his arms and paste his cheek rather than waste the resources of their magical healers. Food and rest had done the rest for him, though Felix would be awhile yet in recovering, he thought.
Which mean, of course, a lot of down time, and since Ashura had no real concept of TV or other electronic entertainment, that meant books. And lots of them.
So he could be found in the library, dressed in robes of blue and gold, his ears adorned with only a single ball of gold a piece, hair kept in a simple braid as he carried a small basket (yes, basket) of books, fingering the jacket of a rather thick tomb in his hand, seeming to focus on urban fantasy novels or true-crime novels based in modern earth worlds.
He honestly wouldn't mind be interrupted though - or given book suggestions. ]

action
Regardless it's not long before there's a soft rap on your door, Ashura.]
Re: action
[ That is precisely what it is, and he feels he needs to, James. You had no idea how much it means. If Felix had died, well, the dinos might be extinct again.
He rose from the couch, Agni and Sybil at his feet as he opened the door, smiling softly when he saw James. ]
James. Please, come in. I just had fresh tea made.
no subject
He gives the man a nod as he enters, eyes taking in every detail as he glances around the room]
Thank you.
no subject
[ Hush, sir. You will be social, even if it is only for five minutes. Let him do this and clear his own conscious.
He goes to a table near the couch and picks up a mug of tea, offering it to James. ]
Chamomile, though if you want something else I don't think wishing for it should prove problematic.
[ He needed the soothing tea for himself, glancing at the door that led to the room where Felix slept, tapping his fingers against the table, his nails causing a quiet rapping sound. ]
I... I wanted to ask you what happened, from your perspective, when Felix was hurt.
no subject
This is fine, thank you.
[He takes a small sip, watching the other man. He doesn't follow his gaze, knowing just where Ashura is looking. It's not difficult to tell, after all. He knows that it's generally polite to ask how Felix was healing but the honest truth is he just isn't interested. He wants to get this... whatever it is... over so he can go back to what he was doing.
He raises an eyebrow]
Mildmay and Thamuris were there as well, have you spoken with them?
[Ugh. Regardless. He might as well humor the man]
I heard someone screaming in pain and came to find Felix being attacked by a raptor and Mildmay already wounded. I shot at the raptor and got its attention. It turned to attack me and it was struck by a bolt of lightning and killed. [So not admitting Thamuris magicked the thing] I told the others to bind his wound tightly while I kept watch. Once that was done I brought him to the ship.
[short, sweet, to the point. That's about it, really.]
no subject
[ He absorbed it and nodded. He asked because though Mildmay and Thamuris might have told him a tale, he know their loyalty to Felix was great enough to obscure the truth if Felix wished it. But James' story stood up to what Felix had told him, and set him at ease that nothing worse had happened without him knowing. ]
Thank you, James.
[ He took a seat on the couch, Agni jumping into his lap, Ashura stroking the bright yellow fur. ]
I owe you and several others a boon for saving him. For that, I thank you.
no subject
You owe me nothing.
[No, really, he didn't want anything. He didn't do it for the credit or the glory or reward... hell he didn't even do it because it was the right thing to do. He was there and he wasn't going to walk away and let Felix die for no reason. That was it.]
no subject
[ He rolled his eyes. ]
We can both play at the noble game, but we both know I will win. I was trained for it on a bit higher level than you, I think.
[ He was the a king, after all. And no matter what James said, he would feel that way. James had helped him from watching a body cool rather than waiting for him to wake. It made a difference, even if he knew Felix would come back to him eventually, death being terribly mutable in this place. ]
no subject
However he knows the benefit of catering to allies one in a while and if accepting whatever "boon" Ashura wants to give him will make him happy then Bond can bear it.]
What did you have in mind?
no subject
[ Ashura has long ago gotten over the idea his title means nothing here. He doesn't introduce himself with his title anymore, and he does not tell people outright what he is. It usually just comes up in conversation because of... well, the conversation.
He waved his hand, shaking his head. ]
That is not for me to decide. You do not have to take it now either. Just know I owe you a boon, and should you have need, you may come to me to claim it.
no subject
He nods]
I'll certainly bear that in mind. [he smirks] You've certainly proven that you're a formidable ally.
no subject
[ Ashura looked back at him and his mouth quirked wryly. ]
I do try the best I can.
[ And he does. He tries his best to live his principles every day, those instilled by his father before he passed and those he learned by himself along the way. ]
