[Backdated to earlier in the day]

[Outside on the grounds (fortunately, away from any trees), seems to be the usual peculiar duo of Arya and Zelos. Both of them seem to be wearing goggles, gloves and lab coats - and in addition Arya looks like she's dressed up more for christmas with a forest green hat and red boots on. And right now, they seem to be very invested in doing a very important task]

[Science and Fire. In fact you can tell it's science by the goggles. And the clipboard to write stuff down if they feel like bothering.]

[When you pass by, they have a little station set up to help burn different types of things, using Zelos's magic or matches to start it up. One particular instance a person may be walking by, and there is a sudden huge burst of green fire out of nowhere. It's one that seems was a lot bigger than planned considering how at least one is jumping back.]

Whoa- whoops! Too much gas on that one hahaha!

[...What. we all deal with stress differently okay]

[A while back, he would have flat out refused. Made his excuses, closed the journal. But what happened on Event Horizon, what happened after...things aren't quite that they used to be. He makes a softly amused sound]

Well, I can't miss watching Zelos losing body parts. Where are you?

I am not burning my eyebrows! Why did I even tell you about that?!

[-but oh! Onceler is actually coming! This is a happy surprise]

Oh! Right on the castle grounds! About...fifty yards west of the gardens?

[wolfchild]

[ she giggles. ]

Burned them aaaall off!

[ to the journal: ] You have to wear—! Go-google? Googles? Gog—ah! Don't tell me! Don't tell me! I know the word!

Goggles. Probably a good idea, given what's going on. I'll be there soon.

[And sure enough, he soon appears, he's even got a pair of goggles in his pocket]

Noooo thank you!

Seeya soon! [And when Onceler approaches, he'll give him a friendly wave to come closer. At least by now the green fire has died down to more reasonable levels]

[ engrossed in her task, arya crouches on the ground, pouring bright green antifreeze on the dark purple potassium permanganate crystals. with a stick, she mixes the two together. the thick liquid adopts the crystal's dark color. ]

[The Once-ler wanders over, carefully putting the goggles on because that's Arya and she has chemicals]

So this is what you guys do to kill time.

Haha, yep! Well, not normally but it seemed like a good day to let off a little stress.

[wolfchild]

[ the mix starts smoking. arya pulls her stick back. ]

Uh...

[whichwayyoulean]

Sure, I guess. I mean, it's quiet for a change. [Doop doop not apying attention to Arya, he is the best parental figure ever]

[wilder]

Yeah...I guess it is. [He meant with Colette leaving but hey Onceler probably didn't know her so why bring it up?]

[wolfchild]

Um...

[ she glances at the two men, wide-eyed. since they're not paying attention, maybe she can hide this from them. she goes to shove dirt on it when a thick column of smoke rises straight up—and the fire bursts into life.

arya throws herself back with a cry, still clutching her stick. ]

[Well, the FIRE sure catches his attention. The Once-ler yelps, reaching out with his freakishly long arms to grab Arya by the scruff of her shirt to pull her out of the way]

FIRE BIG FIRE!!!

[wilder]

[Holy crap screaming, Zelos will turn around to see the fire and Arya throwing herself back]

Whoa-!

[He'll let Once-ler handle pulling Arya back and screaming. he meanwhile tries to get the fire to go out with his magic. ]

[wolfchild]

[ the fire started by itself. the fire started by itself. that is awesome.

arya watches her creation open-mouthed. she tears her eyes away when her stick starts smoking. when it catches fire too, she nearly drops it. but arya manages to keep a hold on it and waves it. ]

It lit by itself!

[OH GOD THE CHILD IS HOLDING FIRE. Why can't he know any kids who DON'T get themselves into peril whenever possible?]

Yeah, and things that light themselves are not good things. Leeeets drop the stick now, okay?

[wilder]

[Because that's how kids roll?]

[Zelos definitely seems surprised. though unlike Onceler, he figures she's smart enough to not hold onto a firey stick that is going to get worse]

- Whoa. How did that happen?

[wolfchild]

[ she looks from zelos to her stick and back. ]

I don't know.

[ the fire, as quickly as it bloomed, dwindles as it burns through the fuel faster than it can heat the still green wood. ]

I used it to mix that. And then that caught fire all by itself. And then the stick did too!

[The Once-ler breathes a sigh of relief as the fir fizzles out. Thank god for that one]

Yeah, some chemicals will do that. Just...y'know. Boom.

[wilder]

Huh....do you remember which chemicals?

[wolfchild]

That bottle with the green gunk and the one with the purple rocks.

[ she points out the antifreeze, miraculously intact considering its proximity to the fire, and the bottle of potassium permanganate. ]

...Is that antifreeze? [Oh hey, he recognises one of them. But he's more inclined towards the engineering side of things, rather than chemistry. That's as good as you'll get from him]

Antifreeze? [What is that.]

Did my hat get singed? [ priorities. ]
