002 Violent Outbursts - dictated

So...I hear friends are turned into dolls, ages changes and all sorts of shit.

Has anybody ever looked for a pattern in this? Who comes, who goes, what happens to them while they are here? I am not a big believe in coincidence or random actions. I've seen too much about exactly how controlled the most random environments are.

Get back to me if you've noticed anything, I'll be checking stuff out for myself int he journal histories.

[Sunny]

How are you doing? Haven't heard much from you in recently so.. yeah. Just, you know, checking in.

There is no true pattern, Texas. Speaking from extended experience.

I've experienced enough of the losses. Temporary selective amnesia to the point where I thought I was still the Director's loyal lap dog. Being stuck chained to someone I hated. Being turned into an AI on two occasions. Being turned into an alien. And the frog incident.

I was a small poisonous frog, and a cat tried to eat me.

To be honest, looking back at it all, I'm at the point where all but being an AI are more funny than terrible. And that wouldn't have been so bad except for Maine being in the castle.

You should be aware of how bad it can be. Any further questions? Just ask.

Really was.

Maine was here. Been gone a while.

[Frowning] Let's just say Delta helped me for the most part... Had I been left alone otherwise, it would have been fine. Even if it was alarming, it wasn't that bad until I was caught. Maine and Sigma weren't limiting their hunt to true AIs, and managed to get my storage unit. I won't forget my time with them.

Him and York.

Appreciate the offer, Tex. But I handle things my way. [By avoiding them.]

There are a lot of patterns ... not all of them are discernable.

What do you want me to tell you? I'm not a goddamned mathematician, Tex. I don't follow anything but tracks in the forest.

[She let out an angry huff.] If you die, you come back in two weeks. There were people here before us, and they went through similar things. There are places here that are in all of our worlds.

It's what I do. I survive. There's no science in that. [Just blood, and desperation, and near madness.]

As far as I know. I've never seen it not work. Unless they're just ... gone. Most of the time, coming back from the dead will cost you. A memory, some important skill, all that.

And as far as Percy, I, and the others have been able to figure -- they're here because the people are here. Or have been here.

You think someone hasn't already tried? You think Delta hasn't already looked?

[Carolina snorts, unable to hide the derision in the sound.] You don't get to call him that.

I wouldn't consider your perspective "fresh." Don't flatter yourself.

[Of course she will start something over York, doll or no doll.] I do, actually. I'm protecting him, I make the calls.

Thank you for your concern. I am doing well, all things considered. I've been staying with Mr. Snicket and doing a great deal of reading.
manymoreteef: (Of course Mr Snicket)

[personal profile] manymoreteef 2013-07-08 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
I was healing.

[She smiles]

You've never met Mr. Snicket? You should. He is a very good man who spent a great deal of time trying to find my siblings and I in our world. He's taken good care of me since I've been here.
manymoreteef: (Still smiling)

If you're free some evening I'm sure he would not mind if you joined us for dinner or an afternoon tea, perhaps?

[Guess who doesn't know you're not human, Tex?]
