[The fact that she’s out and about today at all just goes to show how accustomed to the castle’s pranks she’s become. When she first arrived, she almost certainly would have spent the day hiding in her room. But no. She’s decided that she’s not going to let this get the better of her.

Granted, that doesn’t mean that she’s going to hang out in the most populated areas of the castle either.

It’s a nice day anyway, so she decides to spend most of her time in the gardens peoplewatching and enjoying the sun. Which wouldn’t be an unusual sight if it weren’t for the outfit. Jeans and a low cut tanktop are topped off by a brown wig. Really, if you didn’t know who she was, it wouldn’t be that bad. Good luck convincing her of that, though.]

[ Frodo's costume has grown on him, even the moustache, maybe, soon. But seeing someone else in the same predicament is somehow more shocking. He takes a moment to remember to close his mouth. He certainly knows who she is. ]

Lady Galadriel...?

[A little red reaches her cheeks.]

Frodo. I assume no explanation is necessary. [Given your own state.]

[ This is a story he could tell his grandchildren. One day the Lady Galadriel blushed in his presence... Frodo just laughs. ]

I suppose not! I am quite well like this and I hope you are as well, my lady.

I am. This is an inconvenience, but it is a harmless one. [She can handle being mildly uncomfortable and a little embarrassed for a while.]

[ He reaches to fiddle with his moustache a bit. It's still not the most comfortable. ]

I am glad you chose to face the sun even so. I was tempted to hide behind doors.

[She laughs lightly] The thought occurred to me as well. When I first arrived here I almost certainly would have done so.

Has even you learned something new from the castle?

I would say that I have learned a great many things here, in fact.

How to keep one's wits about despite any changes, for one.

A useful lesson, I'm sure you will agree.

Yet far from a pleasant one.

Alas, the most valuable lessons are oft learned at a cost.

[ He hesitates because he does so wish to know, but then the answer might not please him. ]

What might I learn before the end?

Do you ask what I have foreseen? It is a dangerous thing, to know what may yet be. I told you once in Lórien that I believe you wise enough to make use of such knowledge; I hold to my word. I will tell you, if that is your wish, but I would be certain, first.

[ They say an elf will tell you yes and no, left and right. He doesn't know how to choose. ]

Perhaps I would only know the cost.

Then you would ask me what you know in your heart already. [That there is no going back, even if he lives. That the life he had before is irretrievably gone.]

[ He nods. ] As I once asked you what I had to do.

I have not told my cousin that I am its keeper.

Do you intend to tell him?

No. That would be a terrible burden to place on his mind.

[She gives a slow nod] I think I would choose the same, were I in your place.

[ His eyes may have widened slightly. Okay, so maybe not so slightly. ]

To think you would agree... I must say I am comforted in my choice.

[She's a little surprised by his surprise, honestly.] Your position is not strange to me; oft it is that I must choose whether to tell others of what will be. In this instance, I can think of no good that would come of it.

[ He just remembers that too. What a burden it must be to hold so many secrets. He hardly even had any before this, the Ring. ]

Can good ever come of deceit?

It can. [It's something she's had occasion to think a great deal about, with all the secrets she holds.] Or it may cause less harm than the unconstrained truth, at least.

I wish that it were not so. I prefer honesty to deceit and candor to secrecy. But those of us who have been intrusted with great power cannot always afford such things.

[ Frodo watches a moment longer than he would usually dare to, because he must know-- but has he not been told that his mission would succeed without him paying with his life? He still isn't sure. ]

I trust you will tell me all I need to know.
