I have found myself in the most curious sort of predicament. One moment, I was dead and the next, I am standing in the middle of what I can only describe as a room with a remarkable view. To further complicate matters, I have located this device which is all too foreign to me. Thankfully, I am in full possession of my wits - which are substantial - and I was able to turn it on.

[He pauses to let his words sink in before continuing, his tone as light and unassuming as ever:]

My name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, though that is rather much to remember. There was a time that I simply responded to Albus, so I think that shall do for the present time.

What I seek are answers and I will patiently await them until either they drift my way or I discover them on my own.

I do believe it means "wolf power". It is, no doubt, either a name I inherited from some distant relation that my parents recalled or one they thought suited me.

I never had the pleasure of communing with such beautiful creatures. I admit the idea of owning one doesn't set well with me.

They don't let themselves be owned anyway. You can never really tame one.

One of their best qualities. Being tamed can only lead to disappointment unless you are exceedingly lucky.

Not in the least.

Do you read a lot?

Less than I like; far more than I should.

I thought so. My friend reads a lot. He knows a lot of words like you.

I am a lover of words. Sometimes I make them up.

Like what?

[aphoenixsong]

Spells for example. Most of them come from a Latin base, of course, but they are fun to engineer.

What's Latin?

A very old language.

And you can make magic with it?

[aphoenixsong]

If you have Magic within you already, yes. However, one must know how to channel the spell. For that, wands are often used.

[wolfchild]

People don't really use wands here. They just do it.

That is a more difficult method in my world. [He can do it, of course.] Most feel more comfortable with their wands.

I am fully capable of performing Magic without a wand.
