You know, I can barely remember a long period of time when I haven't worked. At least not since high school when I was waiting tables to put gas in the car and buy junk food and all those things you really really need when you're a teenager. And it sort of kept going like that. When I started traveling a lot, we were getting part time jobs at nearly every stop [At least when they weren't imprisoned or lost or involved in some underground revolution for the fifth time at least]. And now I'm here and I don't really have to but it feels a little weird when I don't have anything else to do.

I guess that's my really long way of saying, does anybody know where I can get a job around here?

I run the pie shop in town - we're just finishing some renovations right now, but I could always use another set of hands. Either with the ovens or with the tables.

I could probably help with the tables. I've done that kind of thing on and off. I was never much of a cook though.

Well, I've been managing the baking on my own so far - no doubt I can continue to do so. I'm sure Aradia wouldn't mind the help with tables and the register, though - it's a bit much for one person.

So when do you open?

Eleven, though I usually come in a little earlier to start the ovens.

Sounds good. I can come by tomorrow and check it out. Just one question...would I get a discount on pie?

You would indeed. [He writes down an address in the city for her, along with a rough but accurate map]

What kind of jobs would they have in the city? I haven't been here long and I heard there was a pretty bad earthquake?

There's all sorts... If you look hard enough, there might even be something you really want to do.

It's rebuilding.

I'm not even sure what I really want to do, is the thing. I like to write, but I've been a journalist or anything.

I guess I'll go take a look though.

Have you ever tried writing stories?

[freeslider]

Not really. I was keeping a travel diary, though. And I studied poetry in college. But I never did much with it, to be honest.

And... How are you with children?

[freeslider]

Okay, I think. I never really did the babysitting gig, but I like them fine.

Maybe you can write stories for the kids in town...

[freeslider]

Stories, huh? That could be fun. I think I know somebody that could illustrate them for me, too.

I don't know. I've done a lot of things over the last few years, but most of it's been whatever I could find.
