... Are there those without magic, or who do not believe in such things, who would be willing to aid me in testing something? Those with magic would be welcome as well, but the focus of this would be greatly reliant on those without magic of belief.

[ And no, he's not going to explain what he wants some non-magical person or person who doesn't believe in magic to do for him. ]

If anyone is interested, I am out.... around the side with the pool. If there is any need for help in locating me, I have white hair.

I heal, and do a variety of things with elements.

We were called mages, at .. home, although here they are interchangeable... so yes.

Does it count if you think there's no such thing as magic but that there is actually a scientific explanation for everything, even if nobody understands what it is yet?

Yes. Own magic is generally fairly closely tied to math, but the effects produced often fall under that, even if nowhere near miracles and cure-alls.

[Welp, that settles it for her. She'll be trooping out there. She moves surprisingly quietly, but she's lived in Para long enough to know or suspect that you can't see her, though you might have heard the sounds of her boots as she walked up. Still. Speaking to people you've only glimpsed here and there is polite.]

[ He is unable to see her, the way he sort of stares in slightly the wrong spot, but he is turned toward her.

[Blues is curious enough about this to take a walk out to the pool. He wont necessarily say anything at first as he just intended to watch. But his footsteps are pretty heavy, so it's hard not to hear him coming.]

[ Hear him Duke does, although he isn't sure if its someone here to help him with his idea or not.

So Duke just turns his head slightly toward these steps. He heard you, and he isn't scrunched up in an attempt to make himself look closed off for conversation.

But he won't say anything either. ]

[It'll take a little while. Blues is perfectly fine with awkward silences, but he'll eventually speak up.]

You the one looking for volunteers?

[ Silence isn't terribly awkward unless he says something and someone doesn't reply- ]

[Well he remembers yours from somewhere too. He can't put his finger on where just yet though.]

What did you have in mind?

One of these.

[ Duke reaches over and picks up his basket. Inside are some spheres, with a bit of a faint glow and something that looks like lettering around them. ]

Toss one away, hard enough to break....

[ He offers the basket in the right direction. There's a few colors - blue, green, pale gold, deep purple, and light purple. Look a bit like crystal, or glass. ]

And see what happens.

[He'll examine the sphere for a moment before he moves to the basket and picks out a blue one.]

Doesn't seem too hard.

[He'll toss it with a fair bit of robotic might to the other side of the pool.]

It was an idea that someone had worked on, home, but this way is less visible intimidation factor.

... I have some minor spells in a basket. Very low level things. Wish to know - is it my expectation that produces the effect, or if tossing them hard enough to shatter does produce the effect, regardless of the abilities of the one who tosses.

I see. You are trying to test if stored spells will work for those without magic.

Yes. If they can be stored, and work for those without magic, will they work when mages aren't mages any longer?
