Open Post: Great Hall

[When the students enter the Great Hall today, they will see it decked out in black and yellow banners, with the Hufflepuff badger in prominent display. There are also a few model badgers that are moving around

The house-elves went all out in the food, serving Hufflepuff lots of cakes and cookies and other delicious treats.

Although you are divided by your houses, it's such a great party that you can visit your friends and butt into other house conversations!]

[He startles when she throws something at him, he's not quite THAT relaxed around regular people yet. When he realises she's thrown confetti and not like...a grenade at his head, he carefully brushes the stuff out, trying to claw back even a tiny shred of dignity. (Spoiler: he has no dignity left to salvage)]

[At that, her shoulders slump a bit and her face falls. She gives him an old-fashioned teammate shoulder punch of encouragement.]

Hey, this is supposed to be a celebration and you're doing it all wrong.

[How are you supposed to find joy things again? He's forgotten]

Sorry. I'm not real good at the celebrating thing.

That's obvious. Here, I'll help.

[She takes one of his hands and raises it up, shaking it a little bit.]

"My name's Ben and we won the Cup! Yahoo!"

[He'll just sit there and let her do that. Forever at the whims of little girls, his lifetime curse]

...Yeah. Sure. Yahoo.

[SIGH.]

We don't get house points for being killjoys. What's the dealio?

It wasn't exactly a great win when a ton of players ended up in the infirmary.

You never played sports in school, did you?

I was in the varsity basketball team, actually. But I generally didn't put everyone off the court by whacking them with a super heavy flying ball of death.
