[ Hello all public enemy number one has decided to crawl out from underneath his rock and make a journal entry. However this time there's a slight change to his voice...the cockiness and arrogance is still there but it's a little distant. It's as if there's something playing on his already damaged mind.]

Ah memories...they are such fragile things are they not?

There are some schools of thought that say a person's personality is defined by his memories. Whether it be the memory of a mothers warm embrace, that first kiss with the fairer sex or the pain of a betrayal from a friend they all make us what we are today.

So for the castle to manipulate them...to add them or remove them entirely in such a way is very wicked indeed.

[Is he referring to his time at Hogwarts or is he talking about something else entirely...who knows?]

That is not to say it was not enlightening to be young again...to relive the glory and hope of ones teenage years. 

Maybe that is the lesson here...to hold on and saviour ones youth before it is whisked away by the ravages and ways of the world?

[She wouldn't ever have things be different, really, but having been denied the chance to feel like a somewhat normal kid, she has to admit she was curious.]

Do you have fond memories of your youth?

I do, yes. [Most of them having to do with successfully completing one of Mendez's challenges, figuring out the twist, and working with John and the other Spartans. Not your usual childhood nostalgia.]

Yet youth is a violent time.

Maybe for some.

I have nothing but good memories of my youth and the times I spent on my grandmothers island.

How could I say no to a lady?

It was...only a small thing but it was paradise for us. You could walk around it within an hour yet that was not the point...it was somewhere we could lose ourselves and forget the world that we knew.

Oh you should have seen the way the sun would set on the evening...it was a thing of beauty.

[so, he's beginning to see just how different the rules are, here. good. she's not about to start hoping he'll give up his vendetta: he's too far gone for that. but maybe a little thinking outside the box will distract him long enough for her to shore up her own tactics. she skims all the other responses before replying. looks like her cadre is keeping a careful eye, which is good, but he's getting close to Katniss, making it personal for her, as well. from what she knows of the girl, this is both good and bad: it makes her more.determined, even as it makes her a danger. she really is far too like James, and this almost has the potential to be a situation like Le Chiffre all over again. she'll have to talk to her. but for now:]
