On a more serious note than my last entry... it's now down to myself and Dr. Tam to run the town clinic, and I could really use some help from anybody with medical expertise. Even someone to just come by once a week or so and clean up or help restock supplies and keep my files straight would be appreciated.

[She sketches a simple map to the clinic.]

As much as I hate to say it, if I don't get any volunteers, I might have to close. I'd still have a job, of course, so it wouldn't be a total loss...

[Her pen rests on the page, but she can't think of anything more to write that wouldn't sound a little selfish- namely, that she kind of likes the relative peace and privacy versus the castle.]

And what about Si- Dr. Tam? Would he be in agreement?

[He pauses for a moment, thinking through.] I'm familiar with the clinic in town. I helped Simon there a little. In May. [As if the month is significant, but it is, because of the ships they all found themselves on.] It would be a disservice for it to close.

Unfortunately, yes. We're only two people, and he divides his time between here and the castle. Of course, I could cut back on hours, too... more help would be the ideal situation, though.

[There's a long pause. Oh, she remembers May, alright.]

I would deeply appreciate anything you can offer.

Yes, it would. I would be happy to give some of my time and take up some shifts. I have some experience in medicine and I can also maintain equipment.

And, my apologies. I don't believe we've made introductions. I'm known as... [Yes, he's well aware of what he's about to say.] I'm known as the Doctor. May I have your name, miss?

Just the Doctor, hmm? I'm Dr. Keller inside the clinic, but just Jennifer outside of it.

I'm happy for the offer of help.

I'm afraid so, although my doctorate is mostly honourable. I'm very pleased to meet you, Jennifer. [And with a smile in his voice to boot.] Dr. Keller.

When would be convenient for me to pop down?

Still, you're willing to help, so honorable or no, you're already pretty good in my book. And you as well.

Any time you want; I practically live in the place. I hope you're not allergic to dogs, though- mine may want to inspect you before you come in.

Thank you. I'm at a -well, not quite at a loose end, but I could come down now. Ah, and no, not allergic to dogs. At least not the last time I checked.

Good. Blue's kind of protective of me, so he likes playing guard dog.

I'll be ready for you either way.

Guard dog? Not a little thing, then? I like dogs, used to have one of my own... I'll be down just presently.

[And to which, around fifteen to twenty minutes later, he'll arrive at the town clinic. And not empty handed either, he'll have supplies from the castle clinic with him, not missing an opportunity to help out. See how efficient he is?]

Hello? Doctor Keller?

He's a sheepdog, so he's fairly big, yes. He's a big old softy once he gets to know you, though.

[And his lack of response likely means the Doctor is on his way, so Jennifer moves to greet him when she hears someone calling for her.]

I presume you're the Doctor?

[Oh my, young lady doctor is young. Smiling when he enters, he's looking around a little warily for the dog.]

Hello! And I presume you are Dr. Keller. Where would you like me to put these? [He holds a little higher in his hands the supplies he brought with him.] So that I might shake your hand and greet you properly.

That's me. Come along; I'll show you where the supply rooms are and give you a proper tour of the place. I'm afraid I do need to tidy up a little, but everything's in proper working order. [And she does just that, opening a supply closet for him.]

That would be excellent, yes. [He follows her and deposits the supplies on a shelf for sorting shortly.]

[And when his hands are empty, he'll held one of them out to her for a shake if she'll take it.] At your service and I'll be glad to help out. How long has it been just yourself and Dr. Tam here?
