Hi. I just want to let everyone know I'm at the clinic, if anyone needs me. I'm going to be helping out here from now on. Um. If I'm not in the main part of the clinic, you can probably find me in one of the research labs.

[Bruce is, in fact, in one of the research labs now. He's basically tinkering, running tests on the local plants and soil, comparing them to what he knows of Earth.]

Um. My main degree is as a nuclear physicist, specializing in radiation, but I also have degrees in chemistry, biology, and engineering. I've also studied medicine. Are you a scientist?

Not officially, no! I mean - I'm sixteen, and I've never really been to school for anything. But my grandpa got me really interested in that sort of thing when I was really young. I think it's fascinating.

Schooling isn't everything. Being a scientist is more about having curiosity and looking for answers. Being self-taught isn't a bad thing.

Yeah, chemistry is good. [Bruce grins.] You're welcome to come down to the labs, if you like. Hands on learning can be pretty effective.

Awesome! What are you researching?

Right now? Um. I'm just tinkering really, familiarizing myself with the lab set-up and taking a look at local plant life and soil. I'm just comparing bits of this place to what I know about Earth.

[Danny pauses awkwardly. Hulk had told him some stuff that he was really curious about. Would it be weird to bring it up?]

Um, could I ask a question?

[Bruce looks a bit surprised, but shrugs, unconcerned.]

Sure, go ahead.

[He hesitates.]

I don't know how much you remember, what with the whole jekyll and hyde thing. But Hulk told me that you guys were in an accident. A lab accident.

Um, yeah. That's how the Hulk was created...or at least that's what gave him a physical form. I was doing lab research and there was an accident. I was exposed to very high levels of gamma radiation.

Yeah, that's sort of what he said. I mean, minus the technical stuff.

I guess I was just curious. You know? I've never met anyone else before who went through the whole lab accident thing.

That's...probably something you should be grateful for. [Bruce can't help grimacing a bit.] Um. What do you mean "what he said?"

Sorry, I'm just more used to Hulk smashing people, than talking to them. [Bruce shrugs, sheepishly.] Um. I don't know. It might have been, but, unless your accident involved gamma radiation, it's not likely. Would you be comfortable telling me about your accident?

[Danny had easily adjusted to thinking of Hulk and Dr. Banner as different people. ]

Um, I guess? I mean, its not like anyone can repeat it around here.

Smashing seems to be his favorite thing.

[Bruce gives a sympathetic and reassuring smile.]

I know it can be hard. It's okay, if you prefer not to talk about it.
