Quest 1: A Wild Dwarf Appears! [Dictated/Action][Open to all - let me know if I messed up!!]
[Where is he? Why is there a book in his hand?]
...from the make of this place, I'd say this is Elf sorcery...
[To appease his curiosity, Thorin opens the book and finds not only his name, but the words he spoke not seconds ago written inside.]
...definitely Elf devilry.
[He tilts a brow and observes his surroundings - seems to be a lobby of some sort. Dwarves don't typically live in castles, so he knows this is not the work of his kind - and his kind would never demand the sacrifice that this castle did.]
Where in Mahal's beard am I?

Where in Mahal's beard am I?

And I'll stick to my ale, thanks.
((Schweet! :) ))

Oh, yes, I do believe there is. I do not frequent it often - I wish up wine from my own world preferably.

Oh there is, but it is like a tab at a bar. Eventually you will pay for them, but not right away. It is like a tab coming due, you simply do not know when or how you will be made to pay.
no subject
[He can make do without them anyway. He's used to not having his wishes come true.]
no subject
Eventually you do, and you learn to integrate them into your life. I have had nothing terrible happen to me as my forms of payments, and none seem to last more than a week except on the rare occasion.
no subject
[He hopes.]

Haha, well, we have had no one flung into a dragon's mouth - not yet. But yes, people have been turned into flowers before.
no subject
...I think I'd prefer the dragon's mouth...
[Almost...]

The flower, I think, would be peaceful. So I would take that. We have enough of battle here.

[Bull. On more than one occasion young Fili and Kili presented him with gentle things and he accepted them with tears of joy.]
I do not seek battle, but I will readily meet it.
no subject
Oh, we must all be ready to do that. But even warriors need their rest.
[ He should know. Nearly three hundred years of war and heartache. Ashura desperately wanted his rest, both here and in his own world.]
no subject
[Thorin nods, having seen some fairly atrocious campaigns and attacks in his one hundred plus years.]
no subject
That would be my suggestion, then. Get your bearings and make yourself as comfortable as you can. If you get lost, call the journal for aid. Someone will answer.
no subject
[Thorin examines his journal for a moment, chuckling to himself.]
It's an odd little thing, but useful indeed!
no subject
Was it mentioned you can never lose it? It follows you, through some magic or another.
no subject
[Though it does make him suspicious of the thing.]
no subject
I suppose. Rather creepy when you think on it to long, but handy would be the best word.
no subject
no subject
That would be one guess, yes. Of course, what is to say it cannot do that already and the journals are just a recording tool?
no subject
[Thorin doesn't know if he likes the idea of someone watching his every move...unfortunately he has no choice, it seems.]
no subject
Worries for another time, Thorin. I should leave you to settle yourself, I think.
no subject
[And that's saying something, considering he so resembles the Elves he hates so fiercely!]
Should it please you, feel free to seek me out in the castle.
no subject
I shall keep that in mind, Thorin. And again, welcome to Paradisa.
