[Emma wakes up on a floor, and as soon as her eyes flutter open, she pulls herself up and brushes herself off.]

Henry, where are--? [Her shout is interrupted by the fact that her foot had hit a book. At her feet she notices a journal, so she picks it up. Maybe it's has information about where Henry is.]

What the hell is this? All the pages are blank. [Her words appear on the page, though she'd been talking to herself.]

A magic book. Cute. Really. [This isn't her first experience with one of those. She lets out a loud sigh.]

Who are you? Where are you, what do you want, and where is Henry? I don't have time for this. [Her tone is more demanding and urgent in those questions. Henry had been missing, and she needs to find him. Now.]

The castle itself? I don't know what a bunch of walls are going to know. I don't think I follow.

[ she had been here before. their meeting had been short, but arya remembers her. she filters to make sure she has the right person. ]

Which Henry?

Young, sweet kid with something some people who don't know him might call an overactive imagination, and maybe a book of stories with him.

[ yeah that's her. ]

He's our ward.

[ if that sounds a little like a "fuck you" it's because it kinda is. ]

Chances are Henry isn't here. Although, you might get lucky, or unlucky as the case may have you, to find someone you know here.

What do you mean another one?

[A pause.]

Henry is my son, so I would say I'd be pretty lucky to find him here. There are other people who I would be unlucky to find here, though.

I mean that the castle, or whatever, has brought someone new here. Busy elsewhere minding your own business and then hello, here you are. And it doesn't seem to have the best of timing either!

Oh. I'm sorry. How old is your son?

[Meg is out and about, walking around the castle. Being cooped up in the library all week had made her restless, and everything else racing through her mind at the moment wasn't exactly helping either. She's just aimlessly wandering when she happens across what appears to be the latest arrival, and approaches cautiously.]

Hey. [She can tell the girl is kind of freaking out - rightfully so - so she hastily adds:] Relax. I'm not gonna hurt you.

[Emma was getting kind of tired talking to a book, anyway. The face to face interaction is at least a welcome change.]

Hi. [Emma will relax when she finds Henry.] So what are you here for? What exactly is this place, aside from being a castle?

Well, it's a little complicated. The castle is sentient, and it's pretty vindictive. 'Careful what you wish for' is a good motto around here. What's your name?

[August freezes when he hears that voice. Her voice. No, she's not supposed to be here. She belongs back in Storybrooke on her way to save Henry. And he really doesn't want to deal with having her here only to have her disappear again.

There's also the unknown: is this Emma from a time where she knows August, or before? Does she know about Neal? These are feelings he does not want to deal with]

[but someone is eventually going to tell her August is here. As scared as he feels right now, he can muster up enough bravery to speak before they do. Nevermind that his voice is trembling and a little raspy from not being used for several days]

Hi, Emma.

[There's a lot she wants to say when hearing that voice, but she doesn't know where to start. So, starting simple is what she opts for.]

Hi. [A beat.] You're here too. [She's glad to hear the familiar voice, really, she's just tense from worrying about Henry, about being here, about August being here too.]

I guess finding ourselves in magical places is officially even more of a thing now, huh? [She smiles a bit, even though he can't see it.]

There's a kid named Henry I saw. Can you describe him for me?

[The word 'kid' makes her hopeful that it's her Henry.] He's a young kid, really sweet, smart, maybe has a big book of stories with him.

[This is the third time he's heard her voice, and the third time he scrambles to grab the journal without letting it fall shut. Each time has the same burst of excitement, of hope and relief. But each time it's tinged, just a little, from memories of disappointment and being left behind.

He clutches the journal close, and considers it a great success that his voice only wavers a little bit.]

Mom? Mom! It's okay, it's me, I'm here.

Hey! I'm glad you're here; I was looking for you before I got here, so when I get here, I didn't know if you were here or not. [The relief in her voice is evident, and she smiles. This sure is a interesting kind of place to be taken, and she doesn't seen any evidence of the ship or anyone who had been on it with her, but she's found him. That's really all that matters to her for right now.] People have said you're safe here. Is that right?

[Sugar was flying around, enjoying her newfound freedom when she sees someone sleeping on the floor. The snow fairy flies down to stand on the floor, peering up at the big human.]

Are you okay? Oh wait, were you sleeping? The floor is not a great place for a nap, silly!

My name's Sugar! Have you lost someone?

I'm okay. I think. [She pauses - she's not sure.] I'm Emma. I'm looking for a boy named Henry, my son.

Why are you looking for Henry?

He was missing where I just came from, and I was looking for him there. I'm his mother; I'm Emma.
