[Here's something for you, Paradisa.

There's a small, blue croco-thingy curled up on the desk of Dr. Carson Beckett. And it's fast asleep.

It's also curled around Dr. Beckett's journal rather protectively and has a pen clasped in one paw.

[James has been in a horrible, no good, very bad mood the last couple of days. Why? Well that was private. And not a thing for other souls to hear, as why would one ask why he was in a no good, very bad mood?

It's this Very Bad Mood that has him coming into the clinic with several cuts on his hand (glass is not his friend when he decides to let out bursts of anger apparently), and is digging around in a cabinet for supplies to fix his hand.

When he sees the little, blue, thing on the desk. So, pressing his towel to his hand (he'll bandage the cuts later, this is more important), he approaches the desk, all wide eyed and curious, even if his eyes are a little duller than normal.

At least it's something better than brooding.]

Now what are you?

[And with the close proximity, the little critter sits up immediatly, looking up at James.

The crocodile yawns, showing off an impressive array of teeth.]

Totodile?

[unnaturalpause]

[Oh that, was an impressive yawn. And James hesitantly approached it, tilting his head more as he reached out a hand to poke the creature's snout.]

What are you?

[On a reflex, the Totodile makes to snap at James' finger. No touchy the 'dile.]

[unnaturalpause]

[Oh? Why not? That doesn't stop him from trying it again, a different angle this time. It's too curious to not try and touch really.]

[atadiscoverer]

[No reason. Totodile just have a curious habit of biting anything that comes too close.

He snaps at that finger again.]

[Ahh James see's but he does not learn really. But at least this time he goes to try it from a different angle, mostly from behind to see if he'll track it.]

Interesting. You're one of those, Pokemon things aren't you?

[Martel is coming into the clinic for the afternoon and...blue mini-monster? She looks at it warily, where it's sleeping perched on Dr. Beckett's desk. She tiptoes over to it, and then pokes it with the tip of her staff. She doubts it's anything dangerous, but really?]

[And the thing blinks awake at the poke, eyes Martel's staff...

And promptly fastens it's powerful-looking jaws around it.]

[She stares at it then shakes it off, whatever it is-his jaws may be powerful but Martel has angelic strength. It's pretty cute, though. She doesn't think it meant any harm.]

[The Totodile rubs it's jaw before jumping up and pointing to his journal, then to himself. The journal is Carson's too.]

A Totodile? What's a Totodile? [She then peeks at the journal.] This is Dr. Beckett's journal...

[More insistant pointing. First at the name, then himself. C'mon, Martel. He's sorry for biting your staff, but please get it. Writing's a pain and he's misplaced his notepad.]

[she's walking past the clinic when she spies this blue thing curled up on the desk. She pokes her head into the clinic and then quietly clip-clops on over to examine the Carsondile when she sees that she's not really disturbing anypony.

Hm. Shouldn't crocodilians be in water or something?]

[And the Totodile turns over slightly, exposing his belly. His mouth hangs open somewhat, showing off an impressive array of teeth...

But still sleeping soundly]

[the sharp teeth should probably give her pause, but she's not afraid of a lot of things.]

I believe I shall declare thee 'adorable.'

[And of course, the croco-thingy wakes at that.

He yawns and blinks at the pony]

[The Totodile shakes his head and makes what seem to be dismissive noises as he rubs at an eye and yawns...

[And at the voice, said Totodile wakes up, blinking up at Gold.]

Hey there little guy, you already have a trainer? [he's not going to reach for him because the last Totodile he tried to pick up nearly bit his hand off]

[Trainer? Whatchu talkin' about? He does hop off his journal and point to it. The name on it is 'Carson Beckett'.

And he points to it rather insistantly... Almost as if he's trying to tell you something.]

Hmm, so this Carson Beckett fellow is your trainer? [he puts on a fake pensive face] Eh, as long as he left you some identifier, you're good. Carry on little Totodile!

[...That's not what he's saying at all. He shakes his head, then points to the journal, then himself.]
