067. In The Evening

[In the early evening, Brock can be found at the archery range alternately shooting his crossbow at targets or using throwing knives. He is... pretty bad.

Also pretty bad is his constant swearing about how terrible he is. It's just awful. Embarrassing even.

But he's still trying. Just getting more and more pissed off as he goes on.]

[Brock's voice comes over the journal in the evening, tone flat.]

I need to know if anybody has experience with like... really bad depth perception. Don't ask. I just need advice.

[She snorts, then moves her arms to his waist, using one to reach for a throwing knife. She throws it and lands a perfect bullseye, then kisses the back of his neck.]

Now, what advice do you want?

[samson]

[Show-off..... Flatly:] How to do that.

[molotov]

[With a chuckle and another kiss, Molotov lets go of him and moves to his side.]

You have to find your new center of vision. Since you lost part of your peripheral vision, it changed, right? So hold your arms out, and move them slowly inward until you can see your right arm. That is your new range, and you have to accommodate for it.

[samson]

[He's just going to be needlessly difficult about this because he is a child.]

I don't know how to accommodate. [He holds his arms out anyway, moving them in.]

[molotov]

[She pinches his earlobe! ]

You get used to it, you turn your head more, become more aware. You cannot rely on your peripheral vision as much.

[samson]

Maybe I like my peripheral vision.

[molotov]

So what? Liking it doesn't make it different.

No, I mean... [He drops his hands.] I don't think this is gonna work. 'cause I'm never gonna have enough time to adjust.

[molotov]

So wear an eyepatch to adjust.

[samson]
