Came back to the castle to find that Gary Sitterson's gone back home.

Would anybody be interested in keeping the betting pool up? I'd handle it in Gary's stead. I feel like it's important to laugh at this place sometimes.

Yeah, it does. At least once a month, and who knows if it's going to be good or bad?

Sounds rather like playing Russian Roulette, but I suppose that keeps things interesting. I doubt this Castle wants us to become complacent. Who knows what we'd get into then?!

Yeah, I'm sure that's the idea- after all, we have to do something to pay for the fact that we can wish for anything we want, no doubt. The rest of the time, it's to keep the castle amused.

Oh-yes! Can't have the Castle unamused now can we?! Wonder what would happen if we all decided to stop wishing... Or refused to play in the plots it arranges...

I know of people who refuse to wish if they can avoid it- to the point where they have their own gardens and whatnot.

Oh? Has that given them any benefit? Well, that beyond fresh garden foods, that is.

Well... no, admittedly. Not to my knowledge, at least. I'm sure it would take a concentrated effort of a lot of people to make a difference, and most of us just like wishing for stuff a bit too much.

Yeah. Well. That's usually the reason why the road not travelled is the road not travelled.

Indeed- it all comes down to us wanting the easy way out. Not knocking it, mind- I do it myself.
