The Holidays Never End Around Here [ dictated; ]

I think you all know that our friend Castle - as in the man, not our current abode - enjoys doing a sort of betting pool every month. I've never really participated, but I thought I would take in something of the spirit of that and begin a discussion of sorts. You may bet amongst yourselves of course.

You see, for those of you who are new here or do not have this in your world, February is the month of love for many Earth types, and there is this holiday called "Valentine's Day". It is all about hearts and love and chocolate apparently. And for those of you who are new, well, you should know that the Castle enjoys taking such holidays and making up ways to... play with us, for lack of better terms.

I, personally, think that it is going to be something like the mistletoe again, only not with mistletoe. It seems to enjoy us kissing each other, or maybe it will have bespelled candy? 

It's just a few options, but I rather think we should all be ready for a little mischief at least.

No doubt made so that anyone bound in them looses the ability to use magic or any other super-natural strengths, am I right? That would be to easy.

I suppose that is true. I just feel like speaking of it is inviting the cursed thing to act.

Well, it is a holiday based around "love", so kissing is usually a part of that in most cultures.

Oh? Do you have a particular event you think the Castle might come up with then?

My first guess was chocolate, but I'm told that was so last year, so... still working on it.

The chocolate could come back. You never know how this place works. Maybe it will be with those little cupid fellows?

I would not put it past the Castle to do one or both. It has a creative mind all its own.

And then, just to screw with us even more, make some of them harmful and some of them normal.

Well, at the least, the ones involving these types of holidays are not usually so horrific. "Harmful" usually takes on us doing ridiculous things.

Put against the actual harmful things, no, but my dignity can only take so much bruising.

I do not know if I ever had one of those.

Someone who exists to make a fool of themselves and make others laugh. I like that role.

But what happens when the fool needs to be taken seriously?

A dilemma I admit I have faced in the past. I think I've gotten to the point where the people closest to me can tell the difference between the fool and the serious me.

That is good at least. You would not want to find yourself in a crisis and no one believe you needed the aid for truth.

Believe me, I've worried about it happening. But the fool part is more like a part-time thing.

Ah, good to know. I suppose it would be hard to play the fool all the time.
