[Twenty-Eight - Right Through The Eye] [Dictated]
[Katniss stood at the window of the room where Mark's radio equipment was, looking out to the middle distance of the snow-covered grounds of the castle. She flicked her eyes to the sky, then to the radio again, before she sat down at the desk, looking at all the buttons and switches with a sort of sad glumness. She ran her fingers over what looked like a music player, then one of the speakers, before she spoke softly to the journal sitting open.]
...I don't suppose anyone who knows how to work Mark's music would be willing to teach me, would they? I ... I miss the music.
[A sigh, as she put her chin down on her hands. Thinking all the friends who are gone - thinking of the nameplate she had found missing earlier. Once. Gone. Another one who had floated on home.]
I hate the silence.
[And for her at least, those words hold weight. There are too many ghosts, in Katniss Everdeen's closet.]

Re: action yo
If you call me m'lady, I'll laugh at you. [But her smile is teasing and her grey eyes are lighter.]
Re: action yo
M'lady? No, no, you are certainly no 'lady.' I would not make such a mistake. [He teases.]
Re: action yo
Good. I'm glad you're smart enough to know the difference between a priss and a ... warrior goddess. [And yes, she's smirking, as she breaks off some grapes.]
Where do we start?
Re: action yo
[He does the same, chewing thoughtfully.]
Where would you like to start is the better question. Is there any particular theme to the song that you'd care to learn?
Re: action yo
[She smirked faintly, before she looked over at him. She paused, before she asked almost innocently.]
What's your favorite song?
Re: action yo
[He picks another grape and promptly flicks it at her forehead with a smirk.]
Has no one told you that it is rude to answer a question with a question?
Re: action yo
[She made a squeaking noise, before she tossed one back at him, a smile dancing over her lips.]
Give me a happy song, then.
Re: action yo
[He laughs, quickly tilting his head to try avoiding it and then nods.]
A happy song, very well.
[He takes a moment to think over what songs he could sing and, once he settles on one, he starts to sing softly and in his own tongue.]
Re: action yo
[She threw another one, before popping another grape in her mouth, reaching for the bread and cheese. She folded them together as he started to sing, listening quietly. It was beautiful - in his own words - and his voice was ... almost unearthly.]
Re: action yo
[He's so 'offended.'
He continues with the song until drawing it to a neat, smooth ending. And when he's done, Legolas looks a bit more content than he had.]
Re: action yo
[She smirks, but that smirk softens and fades into a smile of real pleasure as she continues to listen. Pulling her knees up to her chest, she hugs them a little as she listens. After a moment, she sighs in quiet envy.] That was truly beautiful.
Re: action yo
[He leans back and smiles, watching her. He's glad to see how much she liked it as well as hear it. A persons reaction is better than words of praise.] I'm glad that you think so.
Re: action yo
[She smirked again, before she leaned towards him, her gaze curious.]
What language was that, and what did the words mean?
Re: action yo
It's Sindarin, a form of elvish. And the song is about the coming of spring.
Re: action yo
[She smirked, before she hummed it a little, her pitch perfect. Then she looked at him.] Can you teach me, in the elvish? Or is that not allowed?
Re: action yo
[He looks a little surprised but pleasantly so.] It is allowed but many have some difficulty in learning our language. Usually we learn the Common Tongue so that it is easier for others. I would be glad to teach you though.
Re: action yo
[Yes, that's another glint to those grey eyes, before her smile grew.]
Well, I'll never know unless I try, yes? So ... teach me your tongue, Legolas.
Re: action yo
[He's totally taking that as her admitting it.]
As you wish. Not today though. Today, let us simply enjoy a chance to share our songs. You ought to teach me one of yours now.
Re: action yo
[Of course she was. And she thought about it for a moment, as she tried to think of a happy song from her childhood. Then she nodded, and started to sing.]
Black clouds are behind me,
I now can see ahead
Often I wonder why I try,
Hoping for an end.
Sorrow weighs my shoulders down,
And trouble haunts my mind,
But I know the present will not last,
And tomorrow will be kinder.
Tomorrow will be kinder,
It's true, I've seen it before;
A brighter day is coming my way,
Yes, tomorrow will be kinder.
Today I've cried a many tear,
And pain is in my heart,
Around me lies a somber scene,
I don't know where to start.
But I feel warmth on my skin,
The stars have all alligned .
The wind has blown, but now I know
That tomorrow will be kinder.
Tomorrow will be kinder,
I know, I've seen it before,
A brighter day is coming my way,
Yes, tomorrow will be kinder.
A brigher day is coming my way,
Yes, tomorrow will be kinder.
Re: action yo
[How dare you even accuse him of being a cheater, Katniss, gosh. He's is a perfectly well-behaved... okay yeah, he cheats. Sometimes.
He's content, for now, to listen to her sing. And he's not disappointed.]
You have a lovely voice, Katniss.
Re: action yo
[She knew you were cheating, you cheater. Bwahahah.
The song trailed off, and she smiled a little to herself, before she looked over at him and her cheeks flushed with pleasure. She dipped her head in acknowledgement.]
Nothing special.
Re: action yo
[huff]
No, it is. You have a gift, a lovely voice.
Re: action yo
[She felt her cheeks warm again, and she looked down at her boots.]
From you - that means something - so ... thank you.
