To Much Love [ Dictated/Action - Backdated to Late Morning of Feb. 15 ]
[ It is early in the morning the day after Valentine's, a day of chocolate and love and other things that made one giddy. Or should.
Instead, those with open journals or in the stables might be treated to a piteous, horsey groan. ]
Oh no, you will see no pity from me. You very well deserve it, you know.
[ Another groan, and one can only imagine the sad eyes the animal in question must be throwing Vanyel. ]
No, no. You always call yourself a lady, but then you gorge yourself on sweet things and expect me to cast you sympathy? You always tell me to learn from my mistakes, don't you?
[ This time there is no groan, but a snort and a stamp of a hoof. Vanyel's own laughter rings out, perhaps a bit smug. ]
Oh do not be silly, you will not colic from this. Companions do not colic, you know that right enough.
[ A silence, then a grunt that twisted into another groan, followed by Vanyel's sigh. ]
It is just a stomach ache. Drink some water and you will be well after a bit, just like my cousins at the name day feasts.
[ A very indignant snort was sent out at that particular comparison and received a new laugh from Vanyel. ]
Ah, see, there is my lady.
[ Yes, Paradisa, Vanyel just carried on an entire conversation with his horse (Companion). That's not strange at all, right? ]

Re: (Dictated)
She fares fine, she just over indulged on sweets is all. She will be fine by day's end.
[ He was not overly worried. Companions rarely got sick in the first place, and she had admitted to eating quite a few sugary things in the first place. Water and a bit of mash would clear her out, he thought. ]

Re: (Dictated)
None of the kind I think she would wish to roll in the hay with.
[ There is a snort from her. ]
Do not deny it. You always toss your head so haughty and prettily at them, and you know it.
(Dictated)
Re: (Dictated)
She is somewhat like you then, my love. Except she is silver and you are gold.
[ Both of you so kind to him, loving in your ways, teasing him mercilessly, but with love in your hearts. ]
(Dictated)
Re: (Dictated)
Not half so fond as you are of me, I hope?
[ He knew the answer, but such little games between them were a small joy he took the full measure of when they came. But then, he did that with everything he did with Tylendel, so grateful to have him back in his life, for however long it should last. ]
(Dictated) -> (Action)
Action
[ He laughed when the other came up behind him and gave him his kisses, turning to kiss his nose before pulling away to go put a warm mash in Yfandes' stall and a few other animals. ]
You had me worried with your silence. I thought it was taking you quite some time to think it over. I wondered what my competition was.
Action
(He winks at Yfandes and reaches out to stroke over her muzzle.)
She deserves a powerful stallion who treats her like a queen.
Re: Action
I think she could find one all her own just fine. She's put the ones we have here in their places already. Besides, I think she'd prefer one she can talk to.
[ It was a sad reminder that no other Companion was here, which was why Vanyel spent as much time with her as he could, not wanting her to feel alone. ]
Action
(He tilts his head thoughtfully.)
Does there come a time when bigger wishes can be met? I would wish for a nice male Companion for her.
Re: Action
Mmm... possibly, though I am not sure. And that wish would come with a heft price. Yfandes came through with me, so I am not actually sure the Castle would bring another Companion at all.
[ He shrugged his shoulders, stepping into her stall to pour out some warm mash to help her feel better, planting a kiss on her ear before stepping back out. ]
I had not thought to actually try, since, well... Companions are like us. I thought the Castle would have to decide to bring them on its own.
Action
(When Vanyel is close enough, he kisses the side of his head.)
I have much to thank her for.
Re: Action
I will not stop you, but I fear I shall be sharing my bed with a very lovely animal of some sort for a week or so because of it.
[ He kissed his lips gently before moving to clean up his brush kit and the mash bucket. ]
Action
And you becoming a Mage.
You must have been a favorite of the monarchy.
Re: Action
Ah, I rather am, actually. King Randy and I are good friends, and Shavri, his consort. She is a healer, which is just as well considering Randy's condition.
[ He frowned thinking on it, sighing heavily. Gods, but he hated seeing Randy that way, in pain. Shavri could keep it at bay, but for how long? There was no stopping it, after all, gods knew they had tried. ]
Action
Re: Action
Well, they love each other, so that wasn't the only reason. It was a nice addition, but they truly do love each other.
And no one is really sure. It's just something that's slowly eating away at him, making him weaker, and leaving him in pain. Shavri can alleviate it, but not forever.
[ It was a quiet fact that this disease would kill Randy, eventually, and for now he was coping, but it was one of the main reasons that he, Shavri, and Vanyel had decided to get a child on Shavri now so it could be plausible for him to have had such relations with Shavri. It was a state secret that the child was Vanyel's, though he acts as Uncle to her which was not odd considering his closeness with the royal family. ]
For now, it's controllable at least.
Action
(Tylendel is stubborn enough to figure it out too. His expression is almost pensive as he considers the issue.)
If a Healer can't help him, maybe one of the other Collegium branches can.
Re: Action
We have tried.
[ He shook his head. ]
For now, it is all we can do, though we are of course looking into other methods.
[ He wrapped his arms around Tylendel for a moment, giving him a gentle squeeze. ]
Come, it is a nice day. We should go riding.
