[Well fellow guests of Paradisa, you're greeted this morning by the sound of a "thud" coming over the journals followed by several panicked-sounding "Spoinks". Sheena's puzzled voice is soon heard, but that quickly changes...]

Hey! I'm awake! I'm awake! Stop bouncing on me! What's wro--

[Several moments of silence follows before she starts speaking, very confused.]

Again? But I didn't go to....

[This is soon followed by a sigh, then some mumbling about the journal and an ah-ha when it's discovered--though there's that note one gets when they realize others have already been listening.]

Good morning, everyone. Sorry if we woke anyone, but I have a question.

[A beat.]

Is there anyone here who has wings?

[Such an innocent question, but there's no mistaking the delight in her voice right now.]

But uhh...no, not really. Pegasi learn how to fly when they're foals. [Alicorns...well, he figures they have to learn on the wing, but he wasn't present for Twilight's repeated failed attempts at flight.]

It's not a thing my kind of pony needs to learn. [It'd just be salt in the racial wound, really.]

Latin is an ancient language on my world that a lot of modern languages are descended from.

So, Equestria is a land of ponies. That's...interesting. ... Did the castle turn you into a pony?

But, it's not used too much by itself, though?

[Sounds familiar--except for that descended from part. She doubts any of the languages she knows descended from the Elven language.]

That's right! It's a world of ponies, and I was turned into one then, and it turned me into one now... This time with wings.

[A slight sound that can only be called "fluttering" comes over the journal.]

Ooh, I had wings one time! Waaay back when I had my first loss...

[She's already told Sheena about the time she was a fairy for like, a month. The wings were pretty much the one thing she really enjoyed about it, so she could definitely match Sheena's enthusiasm on the subject right now.]

Why? What happened?

[That's... basically code for "what did you change into?" Obviously some kind of loss is involved!]

That's right. You and Nora were fairies, right?

[See, she remembers; she hopes.

There's a bit of a pause as she gets the "code".]

I think I told you I had been a pony once? Well, I'm one again--only this time, one with wings.

[Oh yeah. She's happy about this.]

[And it was a lot of fun, too! ... Except when it wasn't. She could have done without being so small.

Of course, Sheena pretty much has her attention 100% at the word 'pony'. And one with wings?]

Really?! ... Can I come see?!

[Pleeeease?! She's been curious about this pony thing ever since Sheena first told her about it!]

[Sheena chuckles at Rise's enthusiasm. And why not? She's not the only excited person in this conversation.]

Sure! But I'm not at the castle. I'm in town, but I can meet you somewhere.

[She'll probably run there, since she's still figuring this wing thing out.]

[Hm... the town? Rise's sure she's heard of the town changing a lot recently, and she doesn't want to get lost. She just hasn't had reason to leave the castle much lately.]

Is there somewhere close to the castle gate?

[Well, Sheena lives near town, and trust her, the changes are a surprise... But ones she can live with.]

Sure! I can meet you there! Right now good?

[That sure is a very excited Rise closing her journal and rushing to the castle gate. Not like she has anything else going on! Besides, she really wants to see this.

Of course, she does slow down a bit after she reaches the front gate, so she doesn't look like a crazy person running out of the castle. Who knows how the people in town might take that?]

[They'd probably take someone running from the Castle a lot better than seeing a white pony with purple and pink mane and tail trotting through town talking to herself.

Soon, though, Sheena's through town and able to break into a gallop, only slowing down once she sees the gates coming up--and Rise standing in front of them.]
