[Bruce is sitting in the castle gardens, a puppy playing at his feet. He's not sure he wanted a puppy, but, thanks to the Hulk, he has one. Bruce just hopes Hulk didn't steal the puppy from someone. Bruce is going to find that out, before he lets himself get too attached or even names the little fella. Bruce cradles the puppy, keeping him from climbing down and mangling Bruce's journal.]
Um. Is anyone missing a puppy? I seem to have acquired one, thanks to the Other Guy. I mean, I don't mind having a puppy, but I have no idea where he came from. He seems to be either a lab or maybe a golden retriever? Um. Do a lot of people here have pets? What happens to them, when the castle starts playing games?

[Why yes, David does remember, and is trying to avoid talking about their awkward encounter while they were both sleepwalking.]
no subject
Um, hi. Well, it might be, as long as no one else claims it. It's just unexpected.
no subject
I wouldn' stress about it too much. Haven't been here long, but this place's pretty handy with it's curveballs near as I've seen. What's a surprise puppy when people're bein' turned inta god-knows-what for laughs?
no subject
That's true. I really don't mind having the puppy, as much as I'm worried about how Hulk managed to get hold of one. As long as no one else has a claim to the puppy, I'm happy to keep him.

Maybe the big green bloke was havin' 'imself a Frankenstein moment or somethin', wantin' ta make a friend. Course, I don' know the first thing about the beast in your head, so it's just a guess. As for the puppy, maybe ye could make flyers, ask around ta see if there's anyone ta claim 'im?
no subject
I guess so. I never imagined him liking anything but smashing. That's a good idea, though. My first thought was the journals, but he could have taken the puppy from the town.
The joke is that Mark Ruffalo was in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind :-D
Aye, they can be surprisin', these broken wee bits of our minds. Always thought mine had nothin' but ill-intent for me, but I've since learned they were jus' as scared an' desperate as I was. If you make up the flyers, I can distribute 'em for ya, stick 'em on every spare surface that won't ruffle any feathers with the decoration.
I'm David, by the way. David Haller. I know I introduced myself when we were havin' our Eternal Sunshine moment, but I figure I should do so all official-like, now that we're back to our usual selves.
LOL Yes! He makes such a cute dorky nerd.
[He chuckles a bit at that, for a moment, but then stills, petting his or, more rightly, Hulk's puppy.]
I'm not sure I'm as broken as I thought...or Hulk, either. Um. Yeah, I'll definitely do that. I appreciate the help. Do you know where I can get supplies? I try not to make wishes. I don't trust the castle's generosity.
Indeed. I was really surprised when I made the connection when he was cast as Banner
[He pauses.]
Oh yeah? That makes one of us, for sure. I'm still piecin' it all together, but there's a moment when I was a wee bairn when the sky fell 'round my ears, made me inta the "Legion" that so many fear. Haven't quite cracked what it is yet.
[David thinks on that a moment, understanding Bruce's hesitation to call upon the castle.]
Gimme jus' a tic, an' I'll see what I can find in town. Findle the Finder, yuir powers are mine.
[Several moments pass, as David channels Findle the Finder, the errant personality with the gift of Universal Location. Then, he channels Wormhole Wodo to deliver a stack of what looks like rough parchment directly to Bruce. It appears through a small, greenish wormhole in space that only lingers for a second before closing.]
Sorry that it's a wee bit on the primitive side, but that's all they seem ta have in town. Part o' me almost feels bad for whoever the poor sod is who's the original owner of the stuff, but I can't very well make somethin' from nothin'. That should be a start, anyway.
I didn't really know about him, until Avengers, then I went back and watched almost everything! lol
[His certainly was, but he's not going to bring it up. He's not sure how much people generally know about him. The thought makes him cringe. Bruce watches the wormhole open, studying it intensely. When it's done, he examines the parchment.]
You...um, thank you. No, that, that's fine. Um, do you know who had these? I can always pay them later. You're very talented. Would you mind telling me how you did that? I mean, you created a wormhole! If I could learn the science behind that, it'd be...well, the science would be invaluable!
no subject
[He laughs.]
'Twas a figure o' speech, mate. Had a classic, if extreme case o' Dissociative Identity Disorder. I 'magine you know a bit o' how that feels.
[And a small "heh".]
Honestly, I'm not sure who's it was. Findle the Finder jus' finds what I'm lookin' for, don' give me any specifics on what I'm findin' beyond what I ask for. As for the wormhole, I jus' rip a temporary hole in space. Not sure 'bout the science behind it, beyond knowin' that I jus' hafta think about where I want it ta connect to, an' it does. My da'd be the one ta ask.
[The one bad thing about David's powers is that his control over them is largely intuitive. Unlike the X-Men, his training in the control and use of his powers has been minimal, at best. There are times when he wishes he could have had proper training.]
no subject
Oh, sorry. [Bruce gives a wry grin.] Yeah, I don't know alot about DID. I've never been diagnosed...with anything really.
Who is your father? Can you describe how or what happens when you rip space?
no subject
[David chuckles.]
I can see how that might happen, y'spend so much time avoidin' people an' all. I wasn' given much choice on that.
[David sighs. Talking about his dad isn't always a happy subject for him.]
Charles Xavier, leadin' expert on all things Mutant. Well...he was, anyway.
[David thinks about it for a moment, the sensation when he taps into Wormhole Wodo and uses his power to open wormholes in space.]
It's sorta...it's like stabbin' a map with my brain, if you'll forgive the weird analogy. I think o' a place, an' the energy o' the power like...shoots through subspace or whatever an' connects Point A, me, with Point B, wherever I'm tryin' to send somethin' to.
[He pauses.]
I'm not very good at the whole science thing. I get the basics, conservation o' mass an' energy an' that sorta stuff, but the headier stuff's outta my league. I've got powers for reflectin' physical force an' energy back at their sources, too. Y'could punch me as the big green bloke an' knock yuirself inta next week, heh.
no subject
[Bruce nods, listening intently, absorbed by the possibilities.]
I wish I could meet your father. That's fascinating, no matter how it works. The physics behind it...I mean, I can think of ways it might work, but I knew...it could tell us so much!
[He laughs at that last part.]
That's tempting. Hulk might learn something, if he knew what being smashed is like.
dictated;
[ He totally knows exactly what happened and is not even sorry, Bruce. ]
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
The puppy? Yes. Well, not that he had gotten himself one, but he had said he wanted one. He likes them, you know.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
No. Frankly I thought you had gotten it. I thought he said he would try and let it be known that he wanted one.
Do keep it, it will be good for him - and you.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
Well, considering that he went and got it, I don't think anyone will. But I am glad you will keep it. He was adamant about liking them.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
Oh yes, we had a talk about that too. I tried to impress upon him that social graces should be followed to some degree.
Did you get your lab cleaned up? He threw a bit of a tantrum unfortunately.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
Well as it could have gone, I suppose. It was... surprising, what he had to say. He's angry, but I think I can understand why he is, somewhat at least.
Re: dictated;
[Bruce isn't sure what he expects to hear, but this is a rare chance for him to get some objective insight into the Hulk.]
Re: dictated;
Mostly it came down to everyone sees him as a monster, but he isn't one. At least, he doesn't think so.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
I related that to him as well. I tried to impress upon him that his actions make people fear him, not just his appearance.
But he had a hard time accepting that, which I suppose I can understand if people simply react upon seeing him. He kept saying he hated this one person in particular, that he had to protect a woman from him... had to protect you.
Re: dictated;
[Bruce swallowed, his tone becoming dry and a bit cold.]
Yeah, I can guess who he was talking about. Did he tell you his name?
[He's not going to bring Betty up, not if he can help it.]
Re: dictated;
Hmm, he did, but he didn't say it but once or twice. It was odd sounding, but I knew it wasn't you when he spoke. He said he was a military man, that he had guns. So he doesn't sound pleasant anyways.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
Well, Hulk said that he hated him, and that more than anything, he had to protect that woman and you from Ross.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
Betty, yes.
[ Sorry, Banner, he didn't mean to be rude. Hulk wasn't good on names, okay? ]
Yes, he made very sure I knew that. And even though he said he "hated" you, I don't think he really does.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
Call it intuition, I guess. He kept calling you "weak" too, but I thought... I somehow had the idea that maybe when he said, he meant in that you couldn't protect yourself, so he had to.
Of course, this is all just my own opinion based on the one conversation. But we did talk for awhile. And it seemed to have some effect since you have your new little friend, after all.
Re: dictated;
I hadn't thought of it that way. I mean, of course, some of his appearances have saved me from death or being captured, but I never thought that was deliberate on his part.
Yeah, the puppy. I'm going to put up flyers in town, just to make sure some kid isn't missing their little friend.
Re: dictated;
Oh, I do not think he would steal a puppy. Do not worry! I can help you find all the things you need to care for him. Though perhaps you might want to ask Hulk what he wishes to name it.
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
Because I like to believe that since he is a part of you, he is not, in fact, a terrible person. He just has issues he needs to work out.
Well, I will ask him next time he pops out.
Re: dictated;
Fair enough. I don't really name things.
Re: dictated;
I think there is. Rage is just... it is weapon and shield for him. But again, that is just what I think. You would know more of him, of course.
