[Over the journal, it's impossible not to hear the wind. It's distant but constant, howling through the branches of the trees. Over that sound, closer, is the sound of Wade laughing gleefully]
You know, I saw a kid ride a tornado once. Like a bull. I wonder if I could figure out how to do that.
[She pauses, laughing again]
Or maybe I could become like one myself. What would be more amazing than that? Nothing would stand in my way...
[Outside, at the edge of the gardens, Wade is on the lawn staring out at tornadoes and spinning herself in endless circles. She even wears a dress with a black and white spiral design. Viewed from above the effect would be nearly hypnotic. But to her there is only the endless spinning. She should be getting dizzy, but she isn't. The longer she goes the more the wind seems to kick up around her feet and swirl around her.
She might get her wish after all...]

Action!
You know what they say about bein' careful what y'wish for, aye? Think it doubly applies here, what with all the wishin' an' gettin' whatever we want an' all o' that. Aren't you a wee bit worried about bein' outside in this?
[He gestures at the dark clouds gathering overhead. Being one of the lucky few to be neither terrified nor enthralled by the Spirals, he's trying to figure out what's going on. There's no one causing it, and the Castle prevents him from seeing beyond the shared consciousness of the residents, so he's not sure where it's all coming from.]

[She giggles again, still spinning, feeling the wind whip around her bare legs as the motion lifts the skirts of her dress higher]

There's a lass where I come from who goes by the name o' "Storm". Got the power ta control the weather, she does...kinda wish she was here now, t'be honest...Anyway, think even she'd be worried 'bout this wee storm that's whipped up.
[He'd try to hypnotize Wade...if he could get her to hold still long enough to make eye contact, but he doubts even his power could break whatever hold the castle has on her.]

Aye, that she could. They call her the "Weather Witch" in some parts o' the world, on account o' her tendency towards overkill.
[As an experiment in the strength of his own powers, David rises into the air, and tries to telekinetically seize one of the forming tornadoes to see if he can slow its advance....and ends up being flung several dozen yards away by the strength of the wind, making a small crater in the ground when he lands.]
Well...so much for that bright idea...

Oh my gosh, are you ok?

Aye, 'm fine. Nothin' bruised but my ego...an' maybe a rib or two...
[He coughs a little, and rubs his sides. Though Non-Newtonian Annie's power had absorbed the brunt of the impact, he couldn't fully raise the nullskin, lest he get pelted back up into the storm from the reflected impact energy.]

You can't try to control it like that. I don't think it works that way.
