Dictated; Backdated to Day 6, action for clinic
Oi! [Conan's coughs roughly. His voice was still feeling a little raw from the stresses of his recent kidnapping. Not that he would ever admit to screaming during the ordeal.]
Is anyone there? How did I get back to the clinic?
[Because the last thing he remembered was being carried off by a monster. Judging from how much he hurt right now, he was certain that he hadn't imagined any of the attacks from its claws.]

Action
When Conan coughs, she shifts a bit and mutters sleepily.]
You're noisy.

[Dairine blinks and turns her head so she can see Conan. Her eyes widen as she fully realizes that he's awake. Awake and not dying, like she worried he might.
She probably should say something to him. Let him know how he got here. Reassure him that it would be all right. But instead she rushes forward and wraps her arms around him. Dairine tries not to cling too tightly, painfully aware that he's still healing, but her friend nearly got eaten on her watch. She could use a hug. At least like this her face is hidden so he might not deduce how scared she's been for the past few days.]

Oi, Dairine! Not so tight!

What on earth were you thinking, stupid?

And what kind of name is that?

It's an accurate one, because you're tiny and do dumb things like tail a group that's looking for a monster.

Pull this kind of stunt again and I'm putting a tracking spell on you.

[He crosses his arms and glares at her.]

If that's what you want, I can find another way to keep an eye on you.

I don't need a babysitter, you know.

Can you cook? Do laundry? Practice self defense??
no subject
I've been taking care of myself since I was 14, you know. And self defense is what my gadgets are for.

[Dairine squints at him.]
Wait-- so you can cook? [She had never noticed Conan doing that before.]
no subject
I can order takeout. And Ran was always coming over and filling my refrigerator with meals.
no subject
It's all nice and well that you've adjusted to the married lifestyle, but Ran isn't here and neither is takeout. How do you feed yourself if you can't cook?
no subject
[He just had to be careful about it, because he had to use a chair to reach the cabinets and refrigerator.]
The brain works better on an empty stomach, anyway.
no subject
[The last comment earns him a look.]
No, it doesn't. Being hungry makes it work harder.

Holmes said it. [He said it like that settled the argument.]

[Dairine rolls her eyes.]
Holmes also said he didn't know that the Earth revolved around the Sun, so I wouldn't put his words on a pedestal. Especially not regarding healthy living.
dictated;
Where are you now? I can come get you and escort you back here. Are you injured at all?
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
[ He sighed. ]
Give me a moment, I am outside taking out some trash.
[ And Conan will find a gentleman walking in in tunic and trews and soft indoor boots, his black hair pulled back in a neat tail with its silver streak. ]
Are you the one on the journal?
Re: dictated;
If you're the person I was just talking to.
Re: dictated;
I was, yes. My name is Vanyel.
[ He comes over and he squats down so they are more of a similar height. ]
I work here. Now, can you tell me what's happened?
Re: dictated;
Re: dictated;
[ He frowned a bit, but he nodded all the same. ]
All right. Tell me where it hurts most, and let's sit on one of the cots.
[ He motioned for Conan to go to one of the cots next to them, rising to get himself a stool. ]
If it is all right with you, I can use magic to help some of your more minor injuries heal, but if you do not want me to, I can simply dress them normally.
Re: dictated;
No magic.
[Carefully he sits down on the stool, clutching his right arm tightly. The boy had multiple deep cuts on his arms and legs from the claws of the creature, and dark bruises from the hours being tied up dangling from the ceiling of the cave. His voice was hoarse from screaming, and from the oncoming cold he had been practically guaranteed to catch from spending so long in a cold and damp cave. But the worst was his right arm. The upper part of his arm still held stitches from his last trip to the infirmary, and his arm had been clawed deeply across the wrist. ]
Re: dictated;
[ Vanyel he began his examination of him, and a line formed between his brows, concerned - very concerned. He went to his stock and got down ointments and modern medical salves Simon and Jennifer had showed him, bandages, needle and thread. He brought them over and sat again, sure there were many other issues, but he couldn't clearly diagnose them without the aid of his Healing Gift... ]
I understand you said no magic, but for your benefit, please, let me. I can dull some of the pain, ease it, and help the worse of these heal faster than the salves and bandages alone.
[ He poured medicinal alcohol onto a cloth, knowing he needed to clean and sanitize the major wounds first. Bruises and minor cuts would come last. Wrist first. Thankfully it did not seem to be bleeding overly much, but that could be as worse. ]
This will sting.
[ He pressed the cloth to the wound, hoping to do this as quickly as possible for Conan's sake. ]
dictated;
I don't trust magic. I'd rather heal the long way round.
[He hisses as he feels the cloth touch one of his many injuries.]
Re: dictated;
[ He frowned, but nodded, accepting it. It was Conan's choice, after all, though he wished he would let him. He continued his work, considering the wound and thinking it might not hurt to put a few stitches in. Thankfully, Jennifer and Simon had schooled him on this at his request, and he was good with needle and thread. ]
I think it might be best if I stitch the worst of these since you do not want magic. I can give you some herbs to chew that will numb most of your body.
[ He was not good enough with a syringe or the futuristic drugs to trust himself with using them, and his healing magic wasn't good enough to precisely deaden nerves without potentially causing serious damage. ]
Re: dictated;
[Conan was rather unimpressed by this suggestion.]
Re: dictated;
No, I believe that Jennifer and Simon left some. Unfortunately, I am not very good with the needles required to use it.
[ He gave him an apologetic smile. Ah, if only a green robe was here! ]
Re: dictated;
Fine. I'll take the herbs.
Re: dictated;
[ He smiled apologetically at him and got them, offering him two leaves. ]
Chew on these and swallow the juice, but not the leaf itself if you can help it. They should numb your body some.
[ It wasn't the best solution, but it was what he had. At least the leaves wouldn't taste bad, that was something. ]
