What kind of species exist in Paradisa? I know we're all not human - [ elena isn't ] - but that hasn't affected the way we co-exist, has it?

[ she's been hearing things about talking ponies which do not exist in her world as far as she knows. considering mystic falls is rich with vampires, witches, werewolves and doppelgangers, elena's not new to the rainbow civilisation. she thinks this might help her settle in just a little more; see how special everyone else is and see how ordinary she is in comparison.

I'm buying getting myself a new diary. I know it's late, but my other one ... I feel like I should keep this tradition up. So, I was wondering if anyone wanted one?

It hasn't been thrown up on any walls yet, but it's kind of full. A new diary for a new year is something I like to do.

Maybe I can get you a diary that's anti-walls.

I believe I came across a dragon once, in the kitchen. I'm relatively new here, though, so I can't say I've seen any species disappear.

How big was it?

Not as big as I normally picture dragons, but big enough to destroy the icebox. It was a bit difficult to clean up.

I have been here nigh a year and I have yet to see a dwarf. [Pause for thought] And the last hobbit passed through these halls some time ago.

Didn't you wish for it to clean itself up? [ she shouldn't be enabling wishing. ]

Something about the idea of wishes being granted by the castle strikes me as odd. I try to avoid it if I can.

They've already taken away so much from us, I wonder if there is a price for 'wishing' as well.

A hardy little people, no taller than a child and oft overlooked by the loremasters. [As for the second part...] They are, though I do not see them often; not all of Durin's folk take kindly to the presence of elves.

That's what I've begun to wonder. I keep getting thrown on these bigger losses and I sometimes think it's because I abused the wishing. But as for that one loss we get upon entry, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever find it.

It's smart to avoid wishing. I've been here a while and I feel like I've learnt it the hard way.

Why wouldn't they? Aren't they harmless?

I'll keep that in mind. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

[A pause before he continues writing]

As far as I understand it, as long as we are here, our initial loss will remain missing. At least, I haven't heard of anyone having anything returned to them.

I'm sorry that you must go without.

[Nope. Pippin was the last and he left a long time ago. She actually laughs at that question, though.] Harmless? Nay, my people are far from harmless. We bear no more ill intentions than does the race of Man, of course, but it does not do earn our wrath.

But the tensions between elves and dwarves may best be described as a matter of history and politics. We both of us have long memories and are slow- slower, perhaps, than we ought- to forgive.

Wishing kind of takes away the fun of doing something from scratch.

So, you've figured out your loss? I still have no clue what mine is. And that can't be the loss I have upon entering the castle because that's what most people are experiencing.

I have heard that many people have lost memories. If you cannot remember what it is, then perhaps yours is the same.

...Yes. It's a bit hard to explain, but it's something very precious to me.

I do not mind at all. Arda, the elves call it- Middle-Earth in the common tongue.

I'm sorry. I really think it's unfair that the castle takes something from us, and continues to take from us.

I've heard people lose abilities, too. I'm hoping it's a memory. It just doesn't help that my friends are from ... the future.

I've never heard of it before. But it sounds like a really magical place. I'm just from Mystic Falls - in America.

I'm a human. [ doppelganger, but that's not really something she thinks makes her special. she's kind of excited to actually meet a pony; she's never ever met one before. ]
