[she smiles and as her horn lights up, there's a blue glow that wraps itself around Durge. A moment later, he's got pretty, pretty butterfly wings and the cloud walking spell.

She nods towards the parked cloud.] Care to test thy new abilities?

[Durge's wings flutter experimentally and a few moments later he's hovering a few inches off the ground]

This is highly irregular...

When I first arrived, there was a resident who turned into an Equestrian pony. He seemed rather enthused.

[she opens her own wings and starts matching his pace with easy, languid strokes.]

They move with the wind, but there is none at the moment. At the same time, it is necessary to clear the skies so that the snow will melt. Thus, we shall do this the Pegasus way - despite the fact that the only other Pegasus here is on the animal team.

[a chuckle] The Pegasi are ever stewards of the weather. Unicorns can have weather magic as well, but the Pegasi are much more efficient.

[she puts on more speed and punches through the cloud cover, before landing gently on top of another cloud. It's certainly different up here. Bright and sunny, fluff as far as the eye can see - colder, too.]

[Durge follows her up there and lands as well, if not a little shakily.]

And I thought witch magic was something...

[He takes a few experimental steps]

[she starts trotting towards a larger break in the clouds, treating the fluff underneath her like solid ground.]

Most unicorns can only use magic as it pertains to their specific talent. Thou wouldst be hard pressed to find a unicorn who can do this sort of magic outside of academia.

[Watching that nervously...though perhaps thankfully he doesn't have the capability at the moment to have that show on his face]

Special talent, my lady?

All ponies eventually discover what their special talent is, what makes them different from any other pony, just who they are, or perhaps where they belong. This results in a tattoo of sorts that appears on the flanks. We call them 'cutie marks.'

[a bit of a grumble as she lifts up a wing and glances at her blank flank] I would show thee mine, but the castle has seen fit to take it away from me. Thou wouldst need to ask one of the other ponies here if thou wishest to see.
