It's very cold everywhere near the Wall. After you've been there a while, you stop noticing it. It gets even colder north of the Wall.

I certainly hope so. My...father's wife is the only other from Westeros, that I've found. It's nice to meet you as well, Allen.

Cold, mostly...but beautful in it's own way. The Wildlings don't believe in society the way you or I might see it, so there's only one real city to speak of, with smaller villages springing up wherever they might, and the rest is untamed wilderness.

Lady Catelyn isn't my mother, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a relief to hear her voice after I arrived. We...didn't get on very well in Winterfell, but much has changed since she last saw me.

[he smiles a little as he keeps climbing] I know how that it is. Even if you have disagreements and you aren't related by blood, it's nice to have family around.

They're people who live north of the Wall. One could say that they became "Wildlings" simply by virtue of being on the north side of the Wall when it was built, but they reject the ways of the Kingdom. They call people like us "Kneelers", and they call men of the Night's Watch "Crows". They call themselves the "Free Folk", and the only laws they live by are those they make for themselves.

We haven't spoken much since I arrived, but knowing Lady Catelyn is here makes me feel a little less alone. At least I know I'm not the only one from our world trying to make sense of all this.
