You know, I was thinking last month about the fact that I have been here long enough that I have had two birthdays, even though it hasn't technically been a full two years yet. But you know, I don't think this place is so bad most of the time. What's really hard is how my friends from home keep coming and going, and how it seems like they are gone more often than they are here most of the time.

And what's even worse is when the people that aren't from my home end up going back to their's. I know a lot of people want to go back, so it's pretty selfish to want them to stay for a little longer, but it'd be really nice if people weren't so easy to lose here.

Or at the very least if there was some way to keep contact with them after they go home. Like if we could somehow make inter-dimensional telephones or something.

[Hey, Paradisa! It's your favorite jerk of a vampire scientist. And today, due to the fact that he's easily bored, he's going to ask a question of you all, just to see what sort of answers he will get.]

So, this is more out of curiosity than anything, but what, in your opinion, is the most important invention in the world, and why? Like, what changed the world more than anything else that has ever been created by human hands?

...

If any one of you says the light bulb or the wheel, I am going to seriously ask you how in the world you survive with such an unoriginal point of view. I mean, really, I need some more creative answers than that.

[There's a crash, a yelp, and some muted swearing coming from the journal.

See that red stuff? Blood, too. The next noise is Daryl's voice, pained, and you can hear some reluctance.]

I need a doctor. Out in the woods. Follow the game trail.

((OOC: He's done gone got himself hurt. If anyone likes him after the last post, open over the journals! Action for anyone who feels like helping! XD))

[Martel is in the library today, reading history books from Aselia. She has a few that still need to be put back, but she can't find the history section again. It's possible the Castle moves things around. It wouldn't really surprise her at all. She puts it down when she gets to a particularly upsetting passage about the Chosen Ones and pulls over her journal. The talk about Chosen Ones reminded her of a promise she made. And someone she has to check on.]

[With that done, Martel goes back to skimming the history books
. Feel free to approach and distract, she could really use it.]

Man, I really wish Ella was here. She'd be able to help me out so I wouldn't have to read.

Hey, how come we've got a huge library but no audio books? I mean, there's gotta be some people in the castle who could do that.

I have been told there is a room here called the Season's Room, that it can change depending on the time and of the day as well as scenery. Is that the only place that I could find a garden?

[ kory's missing the tower and her garden from her home world, so finding one here would really help to calm her nerves. ]

[Well, for the moment, Vanyel has come to terms with the fact he will be a peacock for awhile. Never mind that some people are so rude and have been treating him like a pet. Really!

At least he could still talk to Yfandes, though he was a bit scared to try and cross that large distance to go and see her - at least on his lonesome. He didn't have many things in the way of defense and there were so many people and who knew what else. For all he knew he'd get called a white devil again.

So he was letting out heavy peacock sighs, walking around the Castle today, his tail trailing behind him like a bride's veil - a very colorful bride's veil and the net obvious source of his depression. Someone had been terribly cruel and COLORED his lovely white feathers. COLORED THEM. They were done up in purples and pinks and bright blues and he just wanted to sob. If he simply had to be a peacock the least one could try and do is be a clean, pristine peacock.

And some crude little creature had undone it all! He could not rightly get around to fix them.

So, Paradisa, there is a depressed peacock wandering your halls with a tail that looked like it had a fight with several paint brushes and lost... badly.]

I am positive there is a ballad for this somewhere.

[ooc: the italics is him speaking telepathically, so if you can hear it - yay! If not, well, he's still just a depressed peacock wandering about]

[ He didn't really sleep last night, he spent most of it staring at a wall until he finally caved and dragged himself out into the kitchen. (It was early morning at this point.) Making the pot of tea didn't really help with the whole sleeping thing, but it was at least a decent distraction.

God, he needs something better to do than stare at walls and make pots of tea.

So now he's sitting at the kitchen table (of the flat) with his journal, slowly draining that pot of tea he made. Oh, it's a wonderful life. ]

Anyone got any suggestions on what someone can do when they can't sleep to save themselves? And don't say knitting, I'm absolutely terrible at knitting.
