[The sounds and shadows in Nepeta's cave room were becoming a bit much, so now she's roaming around the halls with her hands tightly gripping her journal. Just in case. After all, if one of her teammates or friends needs her help, she wants to be ready!

It has nothing to do with her being scared. She's no scaredy cat!

When she speaks, she tries her best to sound confident. She's a fearsome huntress, after all.]

Not having the sun isn't so bad, but some of the other stuff going on is just plain creepy!

If anyone wants some company, I would not mind being that company. I know that some people might be scared, but it's okay! I am sure this will all go away soon. Just let me know! And you can make it private, too, in case you don't want others to know you are scared. . . . .

[Her voice trails off at the end, and her footsteps come to an abrupt halt. Nepeta makes the tiniest noise of uncertainty. DOES ANYONE HEAR THAT? No? It's just her?

Her footsteps pick up the pace.]

Anyone at all! I'm not picky!

[And that's when she hears the creepiest, most frightening sound of all:

HONK.

Aaaaand she shrieks.]

Well maybe it's just a little bit hard to pay attention with all the... things around. I can't tell what I am really hearing and what is just purrtend.

... I came to see if you were okay. Leaderly duties and all.

[That actually reassures her considerably, and she cracks a smile.]

I am fine. Well, mostly fine. But I thought I should patrol anyway to check on everyone, too.

I don't think the things you see or hear can actually hurt you, so it wasn't like I was really worried. Sometimes you just have to go out and keep the team together. [ who is he kidding he got everyone killed. repeatedly. the thought is overwhelming for a minute and he suddenly seems to be really angry at his shoes, scowling down at his feet. ]

[She picks up on that and tries to make him feel a bit better.]

That is why you are a good leader. You think of stuff like this. [She smiles, even if he's still scowling at his shoes.] If you want, I can help you?

[shoosh]

[ he relaxes a bit, but it isn't enough to wipe the scowl off his face. ] Being a good leader is about more than just thinking of shit that needs doing. But sure, you can help.

[That's enough for her, and she straightens her back, giving him a little salute.]

AC reporting for duty! She gives her best salute and stands at full attention, waiting to be ordered.

First, go find your sweaty hambeast of a moirail and stop him from walking in to anyone and shattering every bone in their body. Because that's pretty likely to happen and I don't want to deal with the complaints because I can't keep my team together.
