[Hiccup sounds mildly panicked. Again. I sincerely hope no one is surprised.]

Uhh - I think I broke the computer Alan let me borrow.

[A pause.]

Odin. [It's spoken like a curse, and then, muttered:] I meant to filter that from him.




Okay, so - um. The screen keeps turning blue. Does anyone know how to fix this? Because, seriously, I'd appreciate it a lot.

[And anyone in the lobby may see him tinkering with said laptop, at a complete loss. When it's not bluescreening, it's filled with popups, because Hiccup of course is the only person in the castle who could infect his machine with spyware without ever connecting to a network.]



[And then, added later:]

Soooo. Hey.

[He practically wriggles in his spot, an excited little whine escaping him.

[Hiccup laughs a little at that, making a shooing motion at Toothless.]

You don't need me, remember? Go on.

[Toothless gives another whine, tilting his head and nudging Hiccup in the side, falling onto his side on with the front of his body and pawing a bit at the boy.]

[Hiccup laughs a little at that, reaching up to swat at Toothless's leg as he paws at him.]

Fine, fiiiine. I can come.. watch you fly, I guess.

[forbiddenfriend]

[Ugh, so difficult! But fine, he suppose that'll work. He rolls back onto his feet, waiting for Hiccup expectantly.]

[Hiccup heaves himself to his feet with a SIGH, heading toward the grounds of the castle. There's a smile on his face, though; it's really hard to mask his 'I'm actually excited' body language.]

[Oh, Hiccup, your own dragon can always outsmart you, can't he?

Like now, as he's taking the moment while your back is turned to bound towards you and scoop you onto his back with his head before he bounds the rest of the way out the castle and snaps his wings out to fly.]

[And Hiccup gives a sound of confusion, grabbing hard to Toothless's neck as he bounds toward the grounds.]

What are you doing?! I don't have a harness!

[forbiddenfriend]

[Chill, Hiccup! Your friends have ridden dragons bareback just fine. He gives a croon in rebuttal, flying upwards before leveling out.

See, he's going gentle, just for you!! Jeez, mister-no-harness.]

[mildcalibrationissue]

[STILL, Toothless, he does not understand this ridiculousness at all. He will start to relax, though, and enjoy the ride.]

[Toothless likes this, Hiccup likes this, but the nightfury feels like there's a distinct something missing here. His head turns back towards his tail with a mildly annoyed grunt.]

[And that sound worries him. Is it not working? Is something wrong with it?]

I can make adjustments if I need to.

[Toothless glides over to the castle's rooftops, landing easily with a couple of bounds. He snorts and shakes his head.]

[And Hiccup slides off of him, moving to inspect the tail immediately regardless.]

It's working just fine.

[forbiddenfriend]

[And Toothless just falls on his rump and sits stubbornly. He can't really communicate what's wrong, not that he'd know how to other than it feels wrong, but Hiccup's a smart cookie, and he believes in the boy's ability to figure it out. As such, he watches him expectantly, a low hum coming from him.]

[Hiccup knows something is up. Something, but he can't for the life of him figure out what, so he just sort of.. taps the side of the contraption.]

You are a dumb, useless dragon, you know that? [But he rubs his tail affectionately, before muttering to himself:] What's wrong...

[He snorts, shaking his head a bit indignantly. He turns his head, lightly bumping Hiccup on the head with his snout playfully.]

[Hiccup lightly baps the side of Toothless's headfin.]

Do you want me to make another saddle?

[forbiddenfriend]

[The suggestion arouses a clearly interested rumble from him. He looks back at his tail, the fins fanned out. He slowly folds and unfolds the prosthetic fin.]

-- see? It's working just fine.

[Hiccup puffs his cheeks out, before rubbing the bridge of his nose.]

Toothless. Has anyone ever told you that you're a complete butthead?

[forbiddenfriend]

[HEY. Toothless butts Hiccup in the chest for that, before snorting and shaking his head indignantly.]

[And Hiccup stumbles, rolling his eyes playfully...

Before he headbutts Toothless right back. Gently.]

Goofball. Why don't you like your tail?

[forbiddenfriend]

[What? He didn't even feel that headbutt, were you even trying?

He snorts, lowering his head to be level with Hiccup's as he looks into the boy's eyes.]

[And Hiccup stares back at him, before finally touching his hands to either sides of Toothless's head.]

I can't keep riding you. It's not fair to you.

[forbiddenfriend]

[Toothless' gaze doesn't waver for a second. A soft hum comes from him.]
