[At first, there's nothing but the sound of a book being quietly opened, and the light flipping of pages. Flip. Flip. Flip. Far too close to one another for any page to be properly read.
And then stops. And after a period of silence, a tired, mirthless couple of chuckles are quickly transcribed and transmitted through the pages]
To think, the denizens of Hell would go to such lengths to receive me. Such lavish furnishings do not fit the Demon Realm. And that does not even broach the subject of this book, the inane little gimmick it is. [Despite his words, there is absolutely no humor in his tone.]
I demand an explanation. If not from the scum that chose to snatch me away, then from those that fill this book with utter nonsense and idiocy. And I will only say this once, and you should be thankful for it.
I am in no mood for games. Think to play one with me, and I will see to it you do not live to regret it.
Don't keep me waiting.
[And the book snaps shut]

Oh. Right. My bad! Compared to you, I guess I just didn't want to know enough! You must be sooo smart! You must be sooo very different from all the other inter-dimensional travelers and demons and angels and warriors!

Where is he?

Am I to assume there is an explanation for how that can possibly be, when I saw him myself only mere minutes ago?

His shop is still in the nearby town, though, if you want to go take a look at it.

[His shop?]
Show me.

I haven't been there since he left, so it might be a little dusty in there.

And why should I trust you? There is nothing stopping this from being a poorly considered trap.

Plus, if there were some sort of dumb trap, it's not like a couple floor spikes would actually do anything to you.

If you want to go see it, that's where it is. I'll send you the key, too, if you feel like keeping the front door intact. [and she'll send a ghostie along in a few minutes with the key~]

[But, all the same...whoever this person is, he does not suspect they have the mental capacity to orchestrate a trap capable of slaying him]
Very well. So long as you understand the price exacted for betrayal of any sort.
