seventeenth examination [ dictated / action ]
[ Helen had read the journal after Galadriel's suggestion, particularly after their 'arrival' again had received a few questionable responses. Those contacting her regarding taking time from the clinic? It made her wonder. She didn't know of being here but what if there were something more behind that - it would explain what everyone knew.
Although how could she truly know that, or know what to believe?
That morning Helen had taken herself downstairs, standing just outside of the castle in the entrance way, stood against the wall and apparently deep in thought - certainly so if her journal dictation was any indication.
A debate about it might be nice, even if it didn't get anywhere ]

What would you believe if what you were told and what you knew of your life were in conflict?

Apparently I run the clinic here.

The fresh air doesn't do much to help, though, but he makes it off like he does. Stepping outside and inhaling deeply. Nice air...
This is stupid.
He laughs a little, shaking his head and turning, only to stop mid way through. ]
Helen? [ She's... wow. Didn't think she'd still look stunning even as a red head. ]

Hello.
[ He knew her and she didn't know him, as had been the same when she'd first arrived almost sixty years ago. What Galadriel had told her, what others had also mentioned was beginning to sound a little more true now.
And that didn't sit quite right. But it wouldn't stop her from being polite, or kind, nonetheless - he couldn't help it ]
I'm sorry, I don't know who you are. Not currently, at least.
[ A different point in their lives, perhaps? Perhaps Helen lived here at a later time, she knew him then but something had happened - although to happen twice? It was odd ]

It's fine, don't worry about me.
[ It's not really fine. This is probably a loss or something. Yeah. ]
My name is John, John Watson. [ A beat. ] No relation to James Watson, I'm afraid. [ Ahaha... ha... ]

[ And she may have done, particularly given their current state of relationship ]
It's a pleasure to meet you. [ Again ]

[ Helen returns the smile despite not recognising him. This time she wasn't bothering to point out the difference, finding the whole thing slightly tiresome - everyone that she'd met so far knew her, and repeating it? She could get to know them again instead ]
