17 - fury of the night

[There's a strange noise coming from somewhere-- outside, certainly, perhaps in the forest? It sounds kind of like a repeated hiss... sloppily mixed together with a slight growl and perhaps a cough. It happens once, twice, three times, then stops...

Toothless butts his head against the doors of the castle, letting himself in. He looks around and--

Ha-tss!

He sneezes, and a bit of flame lights itself on the floor. He perks his ears up at the fire, then casually snuffs it out with a foot. Nobody saw that, nope...

Except his eyes widen, and he rears back his head, and,

HA-TSHCK!

The nightfury sniffs a little, and then he freezes.

So, um. The couch in the lobby might just be a little on fire, guys.]

[Connor had been engrossed in the book he'd been reading so he hadn't notice the... dragon... coming into the castle. He does, however, notice that the couch he's sitting on is now on fire.]

FUCK!!

[He leaps up and scrambles out of the way]

[Toothless watches him jump away, then looks at the fire on the couch, tilting his head a bit.

He was pretty good at causing fires. Not so much at putting them out.]

[Not noticing the dragon just yet because, well, FIRE. He grabs his coat and uses it to dampen out the flames. ... waste of a fucking good coat but he'll be damned if he's gonna wish for something if he can just take care of it without]

[son wtf are you doing? ... it seems to be working, though, and eventually the fire goes out.

Toothless sniffles a bit, then gives a little sneeze. A tiny bit of fire dances next to the man's foot.]

[He jumps. WTF IS GOING ON HERE!? After stamping out that flame he looks around... and sees a motherfucking dragon. Excuse him while he stares for a moment]

[3_butterflies]

[Yes, because clearly she hasn't been frightened enough lately. She spots the fire, and shrieks.]

Oh no!

[forbiddenfriend]

[Toothless gives an apologetic croon, backing away from the couch a bit.

He didn't mean to, honest! >:]

What do we do? What do we do?!

[He looks back at the couch. The fire doesn't seem to be spreading, at least, although the nightfury isn't entirely sure why.

...and then back to Fluttershy.

Um.

He doesn't know.

[oh it's that dragon she ran into! ... hope he doesn't remember her growling at him...

also that sure is a couch on fire.]

Oh no!

[Yeah, this dragon doesn't forget. Silly growling humans aren't really his biggest problem right now though, and he just kind of looks at the couch in confusion, not really sure what to do about it.]

[frogs]

[NEVER FEAR!

Jade quickly lifts her hand, which starts to glow a weird green color. So does the couch and then POOF! suddenly it's gone from the lobby.]

Phew...

Toothless stares at the empty space, then at the doggirl in disbelief.]

[Stepping out of the kitchen and seeing a couch on fire was not in his plans for the day, but before he could do anything another man seemed to have the situation in hand.

Ukitake waits until he's sure the fire is truly out before he approaches the dragon, trying to assess the situation. He recognizes this dragon from before, but he didn't recall it being hostile.]

What happened, friend? If you're angry at the castle, I don't blame you, but lighting it on fire is not the way to go, I think.

[Toothless looks up at Ukitake and snorts lightly with a toss of his head.

Ha-thsk!

He blinks and sniffs, then gives an accusatory look at the little flame he sneezed out onto the carpet.

Stupid spring. Stupid pollen.]

I take it you can't help it, then.

[He stamps out the flame quickly, and gives a thoughtful and concerned look.]

Are you feeling okay?

[Toothless looks at Ukitake, then turns his head to look at the slightly ajar door at the rain outside.

It was worse out there, in other words.]

[Harry stops and stares at the dragon for a moment. Alleria told him about there being dragons here but... fuck that's a living bloody dragon! It takes him a moment before he grabs the flower vase nearby and pours it's content all over the couch in hope it'll make the fire go out]

[YEAH IT IS. And good job making more pollen go everywhere, Harry. Toothless just gives the man a sort of baffled look before a bunch of that pollen attacks him, and...

well, now he's sneezing fire all over the place. Giving an irritated sound, the dragon quickly bounds into the kitchen. At least that area is relatively less flammable.]

[Meanwhile Harry will stand and look bewildered at all the fire.]

I'm going to need a fire extinguisher to sort this out.

[And with that said he'll suddenly find himself holding one which he then uses to put out the fire. He doesn't know much about dragons but he's beginning to think that dragon had an allergy of some sorts.]

[He sure did. Once you're done having a ball extinguishing all that fire and stuff, you might want to check on the dragon in the kitchen. Sounds like he's got a serious case of the sniffles.]

[it seems like they just keep running into each other under weird conditions--but there's a little Zelman in the lobby, staring at the giant monster thing and the couch that he's set on fire.

[YEAH THAT COUCH IS.......... not his problem B|. Toothless just sort of starts to walk off before he notices A WITNESS.

A dragon? [he can't fight a dragon this is crazy. he hopes it's not hungry. D8]

[Oh, Toothless likes kids! They don't usually carry nearly as many (or as big) sharp things around as adults do.

A curious little croon comes out of him as he trods towards Zelman, head lowered to the boy's level.

That fire is someone else's problem. Also probably going to go out soon, thanks to the castle.]
