Mission 003 ~ Encounter in the trees[Action/Dictated]

[There's a figure sitting against one of the trees outside of the castle, relaxing. He has his helmet off, it resting off to one side, sitting with his eyes closed in the snow. His journal is open in his lap.

There's the sound of rustling, crunching snow, of something very small moving about. Jorge opens his eyes, looking about.]

Hello?

[No answer. More rustling. And then, something jumps out of a nearby bush.]

Piplup!

[Jorge stares at the little penguin-y thing as it hops closer and stares up at the SPARTAN. He turns to his journal.]

Uh. Has anyone lost a... Penguin?

Piplup?

((OOC: Open to all. Action or over the journal.))

[There is definately something that looks like a penguin. It's now lying on Jorge's head]

[The penguin thing sits up on Jorge's head.]

Yeah. This is a Pokémon, apparently.

...If that is the penguin you were talking about, then natural selection certainly had a field day.

[Uh-oh! Looks like someone's a little bit angry! The Piplup puffs up her chest in indignation.]

Yeah, she can understand English.

T-To that extent? I was unaware that penguins were schooled in Darwinism.






[Whoops. Looks like it's time to atone for his sins. Reaches into his coat pocket, reveals a small package, in which he unwraps and produces this.

Well, according to someone in the journal, she's a Piplup. [Jorge taps his closed journal.]

[Piplup, meanwhile, eyes that fish, before jumping down off Jorge's head and snatching it from his fingers.]

And why do you have a fish in your pocket?

I have quite a few here, actually. I requested it from the...castle ...on the way, considering my intent on encountering a 'penguin.' I figured that since it had no qualms in providing me with cooked fish, it would probably have no problem with providing raw fish.

[And Piplup jumps and snatches that fish from Miles' hand]

Well, she seems to like it.

[If you squint - If you train your eye hard enough - you'll probably just see a little semblance of a smile.]


Well, I, uhm... I do not wish to overfeed her. Perhaps I could leave the rest to you, if you are thinking of looking after her. She does seem to have taken a liking to you. [Watches as she chews away at the last piece of fish.]


She is rather unusual for a penguin, although...she is rather endearing.



[Offers just once more, and...reaches out with slight hesitation. C-Can I touch?]

Piplup! [Looks like someone's forgiven you, Miles. She toddles toward you]

I'm not the only one she's taken a shine to.

[P-Pets its head. T_T Crouches upon his knees, and cracks a bit of a...wistful smile.]


...Tailcoat Penguin.

...She appears as though she's wearing a tailcoat.

Oh, yeah. She does. [Jorge leans in to get a closer look.]

That's interesting.

[lightly strokes under her beak] ...She's rather docile. With such a comprehension of human language, do you think she might have belonged to someone else?

Possibly. But I have a feeling all of her race are this intelligent.

Is that so? If that is the case, then I am surprised they cannot converse with us as well.


...That reminds me, what is a, 'pookie mon?'

The name of her race. A guy in the journal said she was a Pokémon...
