[Not long after sunrise, the ship docks in a large harbor on the edge of a great city.

Welcome to Castelia City!



Tall buildings tower over the landscape, and people crowd the streets as they make their way toward their destination. There are seldom any cars in the crowded streets, as many prefer to travel by bike or by foot, or public transit.

It seems the ship has arrived just as the city is waking up to start its day. With a city this big, one might need the whole day just to explore it.

The ship's crew thanks everyone for sailing with them, as it has been their pleasure. They certainly hope their sea-faring friends will enjoy themselves in the city.

[Stares at her for a tiny moment before deciding. Brings out from a rear pocket two red and white balls, presses the little white button and two creatures come out of them.

One is a Luxray and the other is a Steelix. They stay next to him, waiting for orders and he's waiting for her to show her Pokémon now.]

[secretly resolving to obtain something as cool-looking as either of those now. There comes a point when not being taken seriously reaches an inconvenient level, and she raced past it far too long ago.

Because the Pokémon appearing from the ball in her hand is...a Chingling. Which is unabashedly vibrating in excitement at the three linefaces before it. Wow...]

[Aw man... There is a brief glimpse of disappointment in his eyes. Somehow he was expecting an awesome Legendary come from there. Oh, well.

!! What the--there is another Pokémon coming out of its Pokéball even if he didn't even call it.]

Magikarp karp! [An oversized fish flops excited in front of them, ready for battle!]

G-get back here! [Needless to say he didn't want to show that one!]

... ... [it would be rude to laugh, right? Right. She makes a valiant effort to keep the amusement in, though the corresponding success is...questionable. No wonder Percy wasn't thrilled at having one come along with him.

Chingling doesn't care; it hops over and grabs a fin in greeting]

[Huh... Well, look at that friendly Pokémon. Magikarp flops even higher, excited to meet Chingling, apparently.]

[oh god what is this scene of sunshine, candy and rainbows, they're giving off some...weird aura threatening to dispel the darkness in her heart...]

They don't seem to dislike each other. [;;]

Why would they?

[Calls his Luxray and Steelix back, we don't need so many Pokémon in one place.]

I'm glad they're getting along.

[isn't making creatures that like each other fight more trouble than it's worth?]

[There goes his lame attempt of a battle, and that's why he hadn't tried that in a while.]

[It'd be a good idea if not only Pokémon socialized... Even if it's hard.]

[why anyone might want to fight a Chingling, or anything disgustingly adorable like that, she will never understand]

Shizuru. [a small, if proper, bow; she hopes the courtesy will make him more at ease] May I have yours?

Cloud. [Doesn't quite bow, because... why would he? But he does nod his head.]

... I don't suppose you've ever heard of Reshiram, have you? [It's worth a shot.]

No. [this is the first time it's been mentioned to her] I can let you know when I do, if it is important.

[Success! Well, not really, but only about him, he definitely changes his posture and even his eyes shine a little... etc, etc...]

It is really important. [To him at least. Instead of describing it, he fishes his old journal--and only draws a sheet that's between the pages. It would have been so confusing to open it right there. The paper sheet has a very sketched drawing of the legendary Pokémon and gives it to her.]

[takes the drawing, noting the changes in his demeanour...it must surely be of great significance when he'd accept an offer by someone he's only met today]

Will it be alright for me to keep this?

Sure, [A microscopic smile, she's willing to help that makes him happy!] I have tons. It might not be perfect though, not many people has really seen it.

[what has she gotten herself into here...]

Perhaps I'll be lucky. [rather doubts that -- at least horrible stuff doesn't have some kind of homing beacon trained on her like certain someones she could name, so she won't knock her chances yet]

[a short pause, then the still-barely-familiar name clicks and she reaches into her bag to retrieve hers]

[Awesome! Gets a pen from some other pocket and writes his number in the paper.]
