[Not long after sunrise, the ship docks in a large harbor on the edge of a great city.

Welcome to Castelia City!



Tall buildings tower over the landscape, and people crowd the streets as they make their way toward their destination. There are seldom any cars in the crowded streets, as many prefer to travel by bike or by foot, or public transit.

It seems the ship has arrived just as the city is waking up to start its day. With a city this big, one might need the whole day just to explore it.

The ship's crew thanks everyone for sailing with them, as it has been their pleasure. They certainly hope their sea-faring friends will enjoy themselves in the city.

I've never seen such a peculiar little thing before, but I suppose I will have to name him.

Until then, may I ask your name? I suppose you are also from Paradisa, yes?

I'm Uru! And I am a resident, too! [ She tilts her head; she's never seen this guy before. ] Oh! Are you alright, then? Since we all got dumped into the ocean...

Ah yes, I'm quite alright from that. Are you?

[A pause, and then he bows]

My name is Clopin, by the way.

Clopin? [ She's never heard that name before. She bows her head slightly. ] It's nice to meet you!

[ Her Eevee pipes up, then goes to brush against Clopin's leg affectionately. ]

And the same to you!

[He looks down at the Eevee and grins.]

Have you any idea how to best take care of them? I have never been particularly good with pets.

[amiable]

[ Eevee makes a delighted sound. ]

I have pets back in Paradisa... but they're nothing like these. Eevee looks kinda like a fox.

Indeed! Mine doesn't seem to look like much of anything.

[amiable]

It looks... sort of like a person?

[the_storyteller]

Perhaps like a little, tiny, shrunken clown of a person, yes.

[This he says very seriously, because it is definitely a serious matter.]

[amiable]

[ She wonders... ]

Maybe it's a person?!

[the_storyteller]

[He bursts into laughter at that.]

What a surprise that would be! Perhaps he is. I suppose I should treat him well, then.
