Ahhh... [Such a happy sigh, here.]

You know what's an extra-weird thing about this no one has mentioned yet? This is a repeated world change - kind of. Years ago now, we went to a world that had Pokémon too. I guess it's probably the same world! I haven't seen any of the kind of Pokémon here that were there, but maybe it's just a matter of time... and anyway, that world change was my favorite one I'd ever been on! I think if I had to live in any world that the castle changed in to for keeps, I'd pick this one.

[She goes quiet for a second. She remembers Zexion asking her that question... the first world change took place when he was still around. She wonders if he's here somewhere. Maybe he'll talk to her if she is. Or maybe she'll broach the subject.]

This world is a lot of fun and it's really interesting and beautiful. And there's so much to explore! And to be honest, I really like Pokémon. Tad has been one of my best friends ever since I met him on the first world change. I hope everyone has fun. This will probably only last a week, anyway... [Her voice drops a little. She's disappointed, yeah. Rin could spend a month here, or even more.

Then reminded of something:]

Ah, yeah, for those of you who saw me... um, I'm older again. That was a quick loss it seems. [Little does she know, ohoho.]

[Zexion]

[A little hopeful:] Hey... are you here?

[Open: for those of you who have hit the ground running, you might run into Rin face to face! She went through Route 4, the desert resort, and hit Nimbasa City already, acquiring a new Maractus along the way. She'll go back over it more later and then push on... maybe to Driftveil, or maybe Mistralton? She just wants to see as much of the world as possible.

Anyway, she's sitting on a bench in a public park, kicking back and keeping an eye on her Pokémon. Tad the Arcanine and Certain the Absol are curled up licking each other, while the new Maractus is wobbling in place, staring back at Rin. Apparently it's (at least temporarily) put down roots.]

Hmm, you need a name... [She looks up at the sky, still relaxing on the park bench.] But it has to be a good name. I guess it can wait, anyhow.

I wonder if we should just sleep here in the park tonight...

[Rin looks up at Galadriel and then rises to come nearer, closing the journal and dropping it in her bag as she does.]

I like this world. It's a peaceful place... except for the battles, I guess, and they're controlled. And I like Pokémon a lot.

With good reason. They seem to be, by and large, quite intelligent creatures.

Do you like yours?

I do. [And, on cue, the little ralts cautiously emerges from behind Galadriel's skirts to investigate Rin and co.] Finyë is clever little thing, timid though she may be.

[Ralts reminds Rin of Joshua and his own Pokémon for a minute. It's a sensitive and complicated kind of sequence of memories so she stills for a moment and then leans closer to Finyë and extends her hand with a genuine smile.]

A ralts, right? They're really cute... hello there.

Indeed she is. I think also that were I fully myself, we would have a great deal in common. [Psychic pokemon, normally psychic trainer. Funny how that works. Finyë will take that as an invitation to come out and greet Rin more properly.]

[Rin hesitates a little, incongruously shy about being too familiar with a friend's Pokémon, before she motions to give Finwë a stroke over the head. Ralts are babies.] When we get back... if she comes back with you, she'll be able to talk with you. That's good.

Maybe she'll get her powers back too. The Pokémon who did come back lost them for a while, you know.

[And this babby likes the attention, leaning into Rin's hand. You are okay. It's official.]

I was not aware, but, then, I have known very little of Pokemon up to now.

[Hehe. Rin rubs the Ralts' crown a bit with her fingers, making nice. What a sweet little creature.]

It's a good thing you're a telepath too. That way you can talk to her even if she doesn't get her powers.

We are well matched, are we not? [She smiles fondly down at the ralts.] You seem to have made new friends of your own.

Ah...! I caught a new one, just while we've been here! Do you want to meet it?

I would be glad to.

It's in the park... come on over. [She's heading back towards the grassed area, with the trees leaning over *^*]

Of course. [And Galadriel (and Finyë) follow cheerily.]

[Rin heads back to the park bench where she was sitting. Apparently rooted in the soil next to the bench, there's a cactus-like creature about three feet high swaying back and forth, making cute mumbling noises to itself.]

See? It's a Maractus! Cute, right?

[Oh, she has to laugh a little at that.] It is most endearing! Have you yet selected a name?

Not yet... actually I'm not even sure if it's a boy or a girl! I guess my Pokédex can probably tell.

It is difficult to discern on sight with these strange creatures, true enough.

Do you think this one even has a sex? I mean... [She looks at it and just... laughs.] It's a cactus.

That would depend on whether it is more akin to a plant or an animal in matters of reproduction, would it not? [Which...she's not sure. These little things are strange.]

I guess that makes sense... it has flowers on its head, so maybe it's a girl? [Girls = flowers, clearly. She stands up and moves back to Galadriel.] What do you think a good name would be?

Hmm. [She considers a moment.] "Erwiel," perhaps- "daughter of the desert."

Is there a "son of the desert" or do you think I could get away with a name for a daughter if it didn't have a sex at all...?

"Erwion" is the male form, or there is "Eruben," if you should wish for a genderless variant.

Well... time for the moment of truth one way or another I guess! [She whips out her Pokédex, flips it open, points it at the Maractus and clicks on the info button...

"FEMALE," the device beeps out.]

...

Well, Erwiel it is I guess! If she likes it.
