98.1 - decade on the dial - [broadcast!]

[the first few bars of "Everybody Knows" drift over the castle radios - if anyone has them on, they'll hear it ... and anyone listening to it with their journal open will consequently broadcast it to everyone else, too. so, no matter what the media, Mark will be projecting his voice to just about every room in the castle, as usual]

Soooo, Friday was a fun little clusterfuck, wasn't it? Bla bla bla yadda yadda whatever, we all got the jitters. But we're still alive, and nothin' came out from under the bed or inside the closet to eat us alive, so I'm gonna go ahead and call it a win. Nice try, Castle Wonderfuck. All you really did was give our newbies Alphonse, Vergil, and Miles a decent initiation. Better to see just what the fuck this place can do right off the bat, so you can start fightin' it, that's what I say.

In other, more important news, Lois Lane and James Watson are still lookin' for info from the last expedition, or anythin' weird that people might've seen around here or in Paris. If you've got a nice juicy anecdote, drop it on 'em and tell 'em Hard Harry sent you!

I haven't heard anyone usin' their nice new radios, yet -- anyone need a crash course in the fine art of the DJ? I could probably throw somethin' together in the ballroom one've these days. Maybe next week I'll do an open broadcast from down there, and anyone who wants to try it out can drop in and throw some music on, say somethin', read a poem, give out some info, whatever. We can make a thing out of it. I know you're out there. I can hear you bitching... and some of you were even goin' on about how shitty some of the music we've got around here is. Well, as a public service, I, Hard Harry, am here to tell you this, with certainty and all the musical knowledge at my disposal:

It. Gets. Worse.

I dunno how many of you from Earth lived through a little decade called the 90s, but lemme tell you, when I was catchin' up on everything this place has to offer in terms of tunes, I went by decade, and I found some reeeeeeeeal STINK BOMBS. I know, I know - I can hear you all right now: "TASTE IS RELATIVE, DUMBASS".

So, for all you relatives, I invite you to judge for yourselves. Ennnnnnnnnnnnnjoy.

[and with that, he'll start playing every. single. song on this list. and all the songs in the comments below it, too. you are so very welcome.]

Will do.

[He writes down a couple of names.]

Probably wherever the place stores digital media. Physical copies are collector's items where I come from.

Christ. Okay, do they have [he pauses as Delta accesses his database of Obscure Music Devices] Walkmans in your time?

[He sighs in relief.]

Right, exactly. You can store hundreds or thousands of songs on a single player, so it's really handy.
encryptedlock: (don't think so pal)

I think so. It's not ridiculously complex or anything.

Sure. Won't take more than a few minutes to learn.
