[Dated to... after the Pokémon plot ended, before anything else weird began.

Rin is in Galadriel's room, crouched in front of what appears to be a giant pot holding her new Maractus, which came back with her. She stares at it rocks back and forth and makes weird cooing and burbling noises to itself.]

Weeiiiird... [Ah, breathless. And then her attention switches to the journal.]

Hey ev'rybody! I'm back! I don't remember anything that happened last week, mostly. [An exaggeration but.] But it was kinda fun, huh? I like these weird animals! They're a little scary too, though.

[he frowns at her now]

The place we just were. With the monsters.

[She just. Stares back.]

Zelman says I got big and came back.

[a blink.]

...What?

I don't know, that's what he said!

[whatever. dumb girl. he wanders the rest of the way into the room, going back to suspiciously eying the cactus thing]

I didn't keep mine.

[Your mom is dumb, Legato. Your sister is dumb. Your FACE.]

What'd you get?

[HEY shut your mouth about his sister.]

A plant thing.

[stupid plant thing.]

[HIS SISTER IS DUMB AND UGLY JUST LIKE HIM.]

Like that one? [POINTS... at the Maractus.]

[SHUT YOUR STUPID FACE]

It had leaves. And legs.

Oh... so not really like this one I guess. [Peeeeeering back at the Maractus.] It kinda doesn't have legs.

It doesn't matter.

[and he's abruptly done spending any more attention on the thing, wandering past more toward the window]

Oh... kay... [She stares after him a moment, glances back at Erwien, and then turns around so she can crouch and look at Legato.]

What're you doing?

Nothing.

[he doesn't have anything to do. So, he wanders over to look out the window over the gardens]

[... Rin just staaaaaaaaares after him.

Weird guy.]

[the gardens are pretty, in a way that he literally can't believe--not even paintings in books he'd read come anywhere close--but they can't hold his attention for very long. There too much other stuff on his mind... and it eventually turns his attention back to the girl. Eyeing her over his shoulder]

...Did you remember anything else? About when you were here before?

[... She sits down on her bottom with her feet tucked under and nods, thinking. After a moment or two she looks back up at him, earnestly.]

A lot of grown ups [Read: anyone older than thirteen] were here and they took care of me, just like now, only different ones. Um, there was a bunch'a stuff going on! Like every day! One day, everything got turned green. I was green too, like a plant! It was because the water was green.

[he still sticks next to the window--staying by the walls makes him feel safer--but he turns to face her at least]

You said that already, about the green.

...Was there anything else? You don't remember maybe why you were here?

Somebody told me that my mom and dad were gonna come get me so I just had to wait... but I don't think that really happened, even though I went home after all. But it's weird. Time n'things are weird here.

[She pats her hands down on her thighs a few times. She's just thinking.] Nobody told me why we're here. Maybe we should ask Galadriel?

[there's a flicker of an expression that might as well have been an eyeroll as he glances out the window again]

She doesn't explain anything.

I don't think anybody told me before. But we haven't asked her, so maybe she'll explain.

She won't.

[picking at the edge of the windowsill]

Well we haven't even tried! Anyway, who else you wanna ask? Do you even know anybody?

[he gives her a look, but it's mostly too blank to read, before his gaze wanders again]

It doesn't matter. I don't think anyone will tell us, even if we ask.

... Do you think they know?

[It is kind of unimaginable that a grown-up should not know something, okay.]

[he pauses in fidgeting with the windowsill, to think. and sigh quietly.]

I don't know. They might.
