For those of us who met either of us on our child loss, if you hadn't noticed: Legato and I are back to our normal ages. And also back out in the dead zone. [Fortunately.]

I spoke recently with Zexion, when the world changed to the Pokémon world. He informed me that the first gens have mostly departed, and seemed to indicate that they were fleeing something. Though obviously this hints there might be danger out in the dead zone right now, it's also an opportunity for us to explore without fearing attack from them while this lasts and I think we ought to take advantage of it. I know Aradia was planning an expedition too so this might be ideal timing.

He also informed me that in summer, the rivers on what he referred to as the "Totem Coast" open out and let people travel very quickly. I suggest we consider pushing in that direction and maybe making some vessels. This might be a good opportunity for us.

[She's damn well determined to get in on any expeditions that happen too, Legato-watching or no Legato-watching. He can go back in the cells for the trips, for all she cares. Speaking of Legato... thinking on him...]

I've been out here keeping an eye on the creep for a while now. I think you know who I mean - Legato Bluesummers. Blue hair, yellow eyes, murderous tendencies? I'm thinking I would like a break for a while. Would anyone be interested in relieving me?

I'm hoping we can actually put together rotating teams to help take care of this, as it's wearing for one person to do this.

He's been decently behaved, at least.

Ah... it's all right. It was back in August, when he attacked the town. I wasn't going to engage him, but one of his accomplices had time powers, so it made sense for me to fight that guy. But then - normally people can't mind control me, and he's not even the same species, but I guess the castle thought that would be a hilarious loss for me, and - he used me to block some other guy's attack, and I died.

[It's weird, isn't it? That she still finds it kind of hard to talk about this, even after like eight months. But Rin is her friend, and deserves to know.]

Ah... [Rin wasn't in much of a state to pay attention to things going on in the castle at that point. There's a still moment where she's nearly holding her breath, thinking about it and then not-thinking about it, because she's over it really and there's no point right.]

Aradia... I'm so sorry. [There's a bitter edge to her voice there.] He's caused so much trouble for everyone and hurt so many people. Are you sure you'll be all right, even being near him?

[Aradia flops back in the grass and lets out a deep breath, thinking. After a moment, though, she comes to a conclusion.]

... If he tries anything out there, I promise you, it's not me who'll be in trouble.

[A pause in turn.] If he attacks you, we can probably justify killing him as self-defense.

But... anyway... [Sigh.] I'm so sorry I didn't realize that - you'd died. I guess I was just... really out of things myself at the time, and not in any state to notice what was going on with other people... [She can't believe she missed that until NOW. Jeez.] If you're okay now, I'm glad and we don't have to talk about it anymore. Regarding the situation we're in now, too... you made friends with him? I don't know how much what he did when he was a kid will actually influence him now. I'm not sure it'll make any difference at all. You can understand him better and still not... I dunno... have it change things much.

Don't apologize, I'm all right. It wasn't heroic or just, so I revived right away. [Sigh...] I guess you're right, though. It doesn't matter who he was as a kid, that's not the person he is now.

[It sucks. And what's more it's a waste of his potential. Rin feels it too.]

I thought for a long while maybe there'd be a way to help him... now I don't know, I guess. I don't know if anyone can change who doesn't actually want to.

Almost seems better to put him out of his misery... [But... only almost. She's not as dead-set on the idea as she once was.]

I know. [And that... is still an option for her.] I don't think we can sustain this forever even if we can find the people to help. Something will happen to set him loose. That's how things work around here, I can feel it.

It's a huge mess. [Determined.] I'll find some way to keep him from hurting people though... or at least hinder him. He won't just get to do what he likes.
