Um... I'm sorry I haven't really been around lately. I don't know if any of you know Peeta or heard him tell people what's happening but I didn't want you to worry.

[She takes a breath] In my world there's something called The Hunger Games. Every year two kids, a boy and a girl, are picked from each District to go to an arena and fight. [She pauses] There's only one winner... another girl from the Games I was in got here, Clove. She's what we call a Career. They train for years for the Games and volunteer to go.

I don't want her to know I'm here... at least, not yet. I've been staying with friends. I miss all of you, though. How have you been?

[Though she's not about to announce her presence she still misses talking to people. She hesitates a moment before picking up a pencil and writing a question]

What's your favorite flower?

Mine's is cute too but I don't have a name for her yet. [bonnie makes a mental note of the room number] Want me to bring some cupcakes?

I don't have a name for mine, either. [Ooooh Bonnie you just said the magic words] I'd like that a lot! The one you brought me in the clinic was delicious!

[bonniewitch]

Okay, I'll bring you a few of the cupcakes then. I just happen to have some and I think they'd be just perfect for you to have.

[fly_little_bird]

You do? Why are they perfect?

[bonniewitch]

Oh, you'll see when you get them, Rue. I want to keep it a surprise.

[fly_little_bird]

I can't wait!

[She laughs. Can't you hear how excited she is, Bonnie?!]

[bonniewitch]

I'll see you very soon.

[Bonnie laughs as well, unable to help herself.]

[fly_little_bird]

Okay! I'll set a table for us.

[And she will, too, complete with flowers as the centerpiece]

[She closes her journal and leaves her room, making sure that no one is following her. Bonnie arrives outside her destination some fifteen minutes later, knocking gently on the door.]

[fly_little_bird]

[She opens the door a crack to see who it is before pulling it open wider and gesturing her in with a smile]

Hi, Bonnie!

[bonniewitch]

[She is beaming at the other girl when she opens the door, stepping inside carefully with a box in her hands]

Hey, Rue! It's good to see you again.

[fly_little_bird]

[She shuts the door]

It's good to see you, too! Thank you for coming to visit.

[bonniewitch]

Of course, sweetie. You know I like hanging out with you.

[Bonnie places the box down on a nearby table.]

You doing okay?

[fly_little_bird]

[As soon as the box is set down Rue walks over to give Bonnie a proper hug]

I'm okay. It's just boring not being able to explore.

[bonniewitch]

[She holds onto her for a moment or so longer, pulling back to look down at Rue.]

I know, it must really suck. But as soon as you can, I'll go exploring with you, okay?

[fly_little_bird]

[She smiles]

Okay! People have been telling me about all the neat things around here. I can't wait to see them for myself.

[bonniewitch]

There are so many amazing things for you to see, Rue. I'll make sure that you'll see as much of them as possible.

Thank you! What's your favorite thing that you've seen so far?

I really like the forest. It's very cool. Oh, and the rooftop as well.

I've seen the garden. You can go on the roof? I haven't been up there, yet.

[bonniewitch]

Yeah, you can. It's a pretty amazing view. I can take you there one day.
